wiring problem

ok i was down in ocean city this past weekend and a couple days after being down there i found that i had no break lights. So I drove it home like that and I found that there were a few fuses blown. 1 under the hood and 2 under the dash so I fixed that plus replaced the brake light switch. Now when you turn the parking lights on the brake lights come on and if the parking lights are off and you hit the brakes then all the lights come on. I checked the sockets in the back for the tail lights and they all look good. Im out of ideas does anybody have any idea what I could check?

In case anyone ever has this problem i got it figured out. The parking light wire had bare spots where wire was showing a foot long in some spots and it was melted to a few other wires in other spots. So I just replaces the wire from the connector in the kick panel to the trunk and now all is good. So if anyone ever has a problem like this heres a good place to start atleast.

Double-check that wire again after some time. It shorted somewhere to melt it down like that. The short may not have been in the section you replaced.
