Brakes sqeak

I owned my car for about 3 years and bought it brand new. Never have I had a problem with my brakes until i got the front pads changed for my inspection. they were in need of new ones the Ford guys says. Long story short, after having the new brakes on for a month they squeak like its a garbage truck or something. He said that its metalic brake pads or something and they do that. Im like uh well what was on it before because i never had this problem. Anyway this is my first time getting new pads on and is this normal. Do i need to give it more time for the squeaking to go away? What should I do so i go back to ford not looking like and idiot haha. Thanks guys and also he said the rear ones need to be replaced. I got charged like 150 bucks which is high. I mine as well buy really good pads and do it myself. What brands are best and note this is a v6 if that matters.

My brakes squeak on my car. They are the stock brakes and it started mainly after I raced the car the first time. I just live with it for now.

The better brake pads do tend to make more noise.

bring it back....

whever you had 'em done, if they squeak that bad in only a months time
you should bring it back. most places give from 6mos-1yr for warranty
for brake service, and should stand behind their work.

Erm, I've got stock brakes but using Hawk pads. --Squeak like a mofo, like 06Roush, I just deal with it for now too.

The cause of the squeaky brakes is not the pads but from steel on the back of the pads against the piston and the steel side of the outer pads against the cailper. To fix this remove calipers and pads. On the back side of the pads(the steel side) get a tube of silicone grease( not a spray, not regular grease has to be silicone.) Clean and lube the contact points on the back side of the pads lightly and rasemble. Voila no more squeaky brakes. When I do brake jobs in my shop I always do this and never have come backs. Some pads come with the lube and some don't know what it is for. The fact we all wash our cars frequently rust developes at the contact points. Guranteed to work!!!!!!!!!
