Angry 99-04 Chrome Wheels Peeling

I purchased some Roush Chrome wheels online through a pretty large distributor on Ebay. Not sure if I want to mention his name yet since I am not sure how that sits here with admin. Either way, when I bought them, a few others here were purchasing the same ones. I think Firemanz was one of them. To the point, in March I noticed they had started to peel. I let him know, and he told me to contact Roush. I have yet to hear back from them, and it has been months. Is it a Roush issue, or am I pretty much sunk since I bought them through a Roush Authorized Seller? Any info you can give me is much appreciated as to me $2000.00 was not change in my wallet.

Hey Betty Roush, good to see ya over here. It's a common problem with the Roush wheels of that era to peel. And its also common for you to have to stay on top of Roush Performance to get a warranty issue resolved. Good luck with it hope it turns out well for you. What is the dealer offering for a warranty on the wheels or is he just passing the buck?

Thanks, I guess I'll just keep pressing the issue, hopefully someone can help me out.

this isn't a new subject, do a search and you may find someone else that had success with Roush and a contact name.

3 out of 4 on mine are OK, the 4th is peeling VERY bad, you're not alone... I ended up just buying a set of 18x9 18x10 chrome bullits from Stage3Motorsports for an unbeatable price much less than the Roush rims...the bullits have been sitting in my basement for a year almost lol

Will the warranty cover these rims even if the car is not under the Ford warranty?

It is covered under the Roush warranty, not Ford. I don't think it has anything to do with the car itself being under warranty.

I haven't had any luck, and the wheel continues to peel. It is coming off on the inner part of the wheel, so I guess right now my only options are going to be to keep pressing. Firemanz, I think you got them around the same time I did, maybe the same place. Let me know if you have contacted them too. I did, and of course it just goes in a circle.

I havent conacted anyone honestly. I'm actually seriously contemplating selling the ride anyway. We have a baby on the way and having a 3rd car payment that sits in the garage isnt really doing us any good.

My driver's side front is peeling bad because I scraped it hard on a curb once . I just came to the conclusion that I probably would just have to buy another rim.

Discontinued? After I posted this thread? J/P lol, oh well. I may just buy something different. Maybe I'll have them done in black, or buy some black wheels.

I had the same issue with my 99-02 style wheels. Not so much 'peeling'. But, 'pitting'. It's the only REAL blemish on the car. I just bought a new set of the 'new style' on Friday. So, the 'New Style' has been discontinued, too? LOL. WOW....And they still have the same issue? DAYUMMMM!
