Ford and Roush STILL won't fix my S3@!

Well....this will probably be removed in about 2 minutes - but I'm freaking FUMING!

FORD Corporate, The Dealership, Roush Office, ALL ARE FULL OF IT!

Everyone says they will "get right on it" and repaint the car, buff out the scratches, replace the racing stripes, give me car payments for having my car for almost 10 weeks, take good care of me, but NOBODIES DONE A SINGLE THING!!!

I've made over 300 Phone calls in the last year and I STILL GET THE RUN AROUND!!!!

My car has been scratched like crazy when the Dealership tried to replace the stripes, and NOBODY WILL DO ANYTHING TO FIX MY CAR!!!! Heck - the stripes were put on sideways to boot!!!!!

Sorry...not a happy camper.

get yourself a lawyer and file a suit and then call your local tv news station and find out if they have a team that help people like you in your situation.
the dealer and Roush will not like the bad press. get your lawyer to file a clam in civil court and make sure he includes his fees.good luck man were all behind you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the BBB

I'm working on the package that the BBB sent me, but I'm limited on what I can send back to them. I think once the rest of my family drama subsides, that getting a lawyer is the direction I'll be going in. I can't believe that FORD Corporate and Roush say they can't help - because this is a Sales Department Issue with the Dealership (....could have sworn that I bought a brand spanking new ROUSH FORD MUSTANG).

Maybe FORD should try doing the right thing - that might help their financial situation a bit. Maybe there's a bunch of little "mE's" running around that are going to be at Chevy for their next purchase (lord I wish I meant that, being a Mustang freak sux some days).

Funny, I know for a fact that if I would have bought a clunky old vette, that Chevy would have taken care of me a long time ago. Even funnier, the Director of Finance told my wife and I to "come get your f-in Roush, and take it Chevy"....I said ........... 'say again???', he said louder "come get your f-in Roush, and take it Chevy!". (Yes, he really did use the none-sensored "F" word; I should have hit him for talking like that in front of my wife.)

Thanks for you support peeps!

Moved, not removed

Believe me I had the same exact situation with my S3 as you describe in your case. If you search in this forum hard enough you will find me all over this subject of paint, dealer damage and their unwitting stupidity through the whole thing in 2002 and 2003.

My suggestion to you is that you look into the lemon law for your state. In most states, if a car has spent at least 30 days in the shop in the first 2 years you are ripe for a lemon law buy back case.

I myself am currently pursuing such a case here in AZ with one of our vehicles. Here, the law provides that your attorney's fees are completely covered by the automaker and you can start a legal case without money out of pocket if you meet all the guidelines. Every state is different but all you have to do is Google search "Yourstate lemon law" and you will find out everything you need to know.

Good luck!

Shay:

I'm ripe for the picking. Researched that and even sent FORD a letter indicating how I wanted to work with them rather than go that route...

In short - GA Lemon Law states that the Dealership should have sufficient time with the vehicle to repair the damages, have three attempts during the first twelve months of purchase, and the damages (if cosmetic in nature) have to substantially reduce the value of the vehicle. (They had the car three times, I have 4 slips proving wax, polishing, etc, they had the car for 9 weeks one time, and I am pretty covered with the 'substantially reduce the value of the vehicle' line.

I appreciate your input - I will be looking for the post you're talking about too. I will have to check further to see if my state law supports the attorney fees you mentioned - that would be most outstanding!

Thanks!

you are not going to like what i have to say but: all of your problems have to do with the dealership, not ROUSH. ROUSH gave your dealer new stripes to put on and the dealer screwed up your car. What is it that you want ROUSH to do to help you?????? they can get on the dealers case a little but that is about it. ROUSH is not going to send a tech to fix your car................that is why they have dealers and are not factory direct. ford corporate for that matter can really only do the same thing. pay the money to get it fixed right and send the dealer the bill, then see what happens. if they refuse to pay you, then call a lawyer. trying to get them to pay car payments is something that i have seen tried before......................................it usually does not work. i have seen some pain and suffering money so to speak, but a year of car payments, no way.

First off - You're wrong - I like what you have to say - just not the way that you say it - like I'm some sort of idiot. I hope this type of issue never happens to you. It will probably upset you a great deal.

Secondly - I did not ask for a years worth of car payments. The dealership offered to pay the payments while they had the car (2 payments) - due to the fact that they had it for 9 weeks in a row, and have not done that (again - you're proably thinking that I should have gotten that in writing, and like an idiot, did not) You're correct - I did not get that in writing, on the other hand, I did think to take my handy-dandy pocket recorder (recording in the State of GA is legal, and will be admissable in Court, so long as both parties on the tape are recognizable, the person is capable of operating the recorder, the tape hasn't been altered, and both people on the tape are present in Court).

Thirdly - I'm in the wannabe rich club - not the more money than brains club - and would have had the car fixed a long time ago if I could have afforded to throw that kind of money away. Instead - I would much rather the Dealership/FORD pay those tabs by doing the work necessary to correct the damages incurred while in their posession.

Thanks for your $.02.

I think I remember reading a past thread you posted about this issue. That really sucks and I wish you the best.

I have to agree with the other post that it probably is up to the dealer moreso than Ford. I had a paint problem while my car was getting serviced and the dealer stepped up and fixed it. I know I'm in a little different boat as my car was about 4 years old at the time compared to your new car but I still think the blame would lie with the dealer. Ford sold the dealer a vehicle in new condition, the dealer sold it to you, then the dealer messed it up.

Whatever you have to do, I hope it works out for you...

I know that you said you made a ton of phone calls. You might want to calmly call Roush and ask to talk to someone in charge and explain your issue and ask if they could call the dealership and check on it. While they aren't to blame since the dealer did it, they can put a little pressure on them.

Next, call Ford customer service and do the same thing. I've found out from other issues I've had that if you call and get upper customer service, explain the issue and basically agree with them that it isn't their fault but you really need their help that they will generally try to help.

Keep us posted and I hope things get better.

The Roush stripes are a touchy subject between the dealers and Roush. I had problems with mine around the hood scoop, and the dealer didn't want to fix it because when they try to take the old stripe off it may damage the paint(especially on the plastic pieces), and Roush will not reimburse the dealers for the paint problems. Sounds like you are caught in the middle of this also. GOOD LUCK!!!

This does suck, but calm heads do prevail. Believe it or not in 93 when the Probe GTs came out (go ahead give me shit) I just loved them. Actually bought like the 3rd GT in DFW area. It actually was a lot of fun to drive. However, it was a POS. In the 14 months that I had it the car was in the shop 127 days. Everything from trim issues to having to replace the head.

Actually when it was in the shop for like 8 weeks waiting on a new head (car would start when cold, but shook violently),they did give me a rental - a ford taurus - BORING. However, when I went to finally pick the car up, I was sooo excited. I left the dealership and gave it a little gas down the access road and....

THE ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM DROPPED OFF THE CAR. It was a sound I will never forget. So I just calmly pull back into the dealership....sparks a flyin. Pull into the service area and it was almost comical. I talk to my service guy and I just shake my head. I said I can't take it anymore, so he get the GM and he comes down to talk to me. Due to the relationship I had built witht he dealership and how I didn't go off on them they were willing to work with me. The next day we swapped my car out for a brand new Tbird V8 (black, sunroof, tan interior, it was a sweet ride), he gave me credit for everything I had done, tint, CD changer the works. I will never buy a first year edition car again.

Just be patient and it will work out. Don't let it spoil your Roush experience.

Won't fix my S3

We are going to install the Stage 3 exhaust setup on our 07 Roush 427 Vert but are waiting on the national back-order. We discovered that Roush didn't install the carbon fiber on our dash or any of the car, and now discovered that they didn't install the "White Gauges" on the car! We just have 700 miles on the car, "Looking out the windshield, not "IN" the car! After discovering that,we went thru the whole check list and found everything else installed so when the Stage 3 exhaust setup comes in, Joe cooper -Tulsa , will have our Baby , for a while!!!
Im thinking of asking for a loaner!!! There 07 Shelby GT500!!!! LOL!!!!

I have a solution for you, but first you maybe barking up on the wrong tree. The car was in the dealer's possession when the paint was damaged, this has nothing to do with ROUSH even though they were removing the Roush strips. My co-worker bought a brand new S197 convertible. Her top was vandalised by some teenagers only after two weeks in her driveway. She brough it to the dealer for a replacement. After several weeks, the new top arrived but was damaged by the truck driver from dragging it off the truck and rippping it. After several weeks, the second top came, but the mechanic did the installation wrong and it didn't work. After several weeks, the third top came and it was damaged from the factory. She only had the car for two weeks, the dealer ended up having the car for 7 months. They tried 5 times replacing the top but it was one thing after another.

Does this fall into the lemon law?? her does not and neither is your. I contacted the Better Business Bureau for her and after researching, they came with this conclusion. While the dealer is at fault, the top is not a mechnical part (like the strips/paint). They filed a complain for us and said they best way to get this resolved is to contact the local media. I went with her down to the dealer, sat down with the GM and told him that in two days, the local news will do a story on this dealer unless we can get this resolved. She got back not only 7 months of car payments but also and extra 2 months free. The top was fixed in 3 days. Contact your local Better Business Bureau and ask for guidance.

I don't have any sage advice for you, but just wanted to say how much this story stuns me. It's a shame you're having to go through such trouble to get these people to do right by you, and by "these people" I really just mean the dealership....I don't really think this is a Roush issue.

If it were me, and granted I have a particularly vicious streak in me, I wouldn't hesitate to contact the local media (in my area one of the local tv stations thrives on stories like this), and I would create a website posting the story, pictures of the dealership along with photos and names of those who are failing in their duty to you, pictures of the damage, audio clips from your discussions with them, etc. - and I would post that link EVERYWHERE - on every forum I visited, on myspace, on youtube, in mass emailings to car club members, some local newspaper classified ads.....EVERYFREAKINWHERE..... If they wouldn't do right by me, I'd damn sure make everyone I could aware of it. It's not libelous if it's true. Good luck to you, brother!
