Re-Stripe
Ok so I got the 427 back today from the re-stripe and brake fix. Has anyone else had a hood re-stripe on a 427.
 Mine had a wrinkle right next to the hood scoop. I have heard this is a common problem area. Anyway they didnt replace the stripe. They cut the old one and went around the scoop. Is this normal? They said this is how they do it (the dealer) I will call Roush but I thought I would ask here first.

I may be worng here but I believe this is the Roush fix. I am not talking about cutting the stripe that is already on the car but the new style stripes do not go under the hood scoop any more. I have the old style and the stripe is creeping and wrinkling under the scoop. I have been thinking about trimming mine like the pictures you posted above but am concerned that I might cut too deep and through the paint. That would not be good...

That's how mine came from the dealer new. There is a tiny little space at the rear of the scoop in front of the stripe..Build date 12-06

I am wondering if the 08's are already striped like the fix? I thought I noticed that striping change in the Trak Pak video. Take another look at it, and I think I'm right... so? that may be the new fix. Mine has the same wrinkles btw..

Yes, that is the fix on the stripe. It is a new stripe from Roush, they didn't cut it at the dealership. Had mine fixed, you won't notice it after awhile, much better than the crinkles, couldn't stop looking at that when I was driving!

later 07 models came with the new updated stripe. i just had a buddy that has a real steady hand trim my existing so i would not have to get this new stripe on, really do not like the look.
