Dealer Woes

So, like quite a few new Roush owners I had problem with the hood stripes. It was crinkling up along the edge of the hood scoop. Dealer took pictures and Roush stood behind it to get it fixed. Dealer subcontracted to work to a third party "specialist" who promply messed it up. They did a lousy job, leaving exposed rough edges on the stripes along the hood scoop. I complained and after waiting two months for the dealership to take some action they offered to remove the hood scoop, clean up the edge of the existing stripes and clean things up. When I picked the car up that afternoon it looked great, I was pleased. Then I got the car home and flicked on the fluorescent lights in the garage.....OMG!.....they totally scratched the paint on the hood! It's horrible. You can see the pattern of the technicians jacket zipper all over the hood and fenders. What a mess. I took it back and they denied doing it. Unbelievable. I'm so ticked at them that I can't even talk to them anymore. I'm off to a professional hot rod shop for a wet sand and new clear coat.

Needless to say.....if you're in Las Vegas don't go to FRIENDLY FORD! My ride will never set foot on their property again. What a bunch of Joe's.

Rant over.

yours is a common problem. you have to fix it yourself, pull the hoodliner, remove the scoop, with a heat gun, carefully, and i mean carfully, smooth out the wrinkles, dealer will not spend 4 hrs doing that. is the only fix.

I've got the same problem with my hood stripes and my Roush is only 6 months old.

Is using the heat gun a permanent fix?

The cause is the scoop becomes loose, push on the very front center of the scoop, do's it squeek?
My fix worked for a few months, scoop is loose again, crinkle is back so will do it again.

Dealer scratched my car when they replaced my stripe. I noticed it when I got it home and the dealership is two hours from home. I didnt take it back because I knew they would deny doing it. Luckly they are very minor and should polish out. You have to look very close and at the right angel to see them. If they dont polish out it will give me a good excuse to get the new hood I want...they would need to paint the fenders anyway.

Good luck

Mine is getting bad too....I will do it myself before taking it back to the dealership. My tail light had somehow loosened up ...had them check it and they tightened everthing up but I could see they scratched the bumper. I hate taking it to the dealership for anything.
