Cool 1st GEN modular Stage 3 specs

Come so far .... so to speak.

Remember this information is to cover where the "Stage 3" for the second GEN cars came from and what ROUSH was working on before the 2001 release.

Not meant for debate just education.

How many copies of Motor Trend did you buy when that issue came out?

Nice write-up too.

Great read! Thanks for sharing! A blast from the past, eh. I was looking at the picture of the Roush engine bay and thought where is the supercharger? lol They really disguised it and crammed it in there. Another thing I learned was that Roush put ported SVO heads on this ride as well as SVO shorty headers. The next logical question would be: why didn't Roush extend the same options on the late model Roushes? Did they not develop them? It was also interesting to read Roush offered to install 3:73 gears for free as an option.

Possibly because this vehicle was "especially" built for the article. It was created to help generate interest. Kinda like how the majority of proto-type vehicles are pretty rad and come with all the bells and whistles. But then they go into production and certain items get the axe. Even though I would not consider a Roush a mass production vehicle, I am sure the same laws of cost and marketability apply.
