You Could Have Put Who Ever You Want In Those Toyotas And They Still Wouldnt Have Done A Thing.... Nascar Killed Toyota When The Said They Couldnt Use The Truck Engine... They Started From Scratch... Its Going To Be A Couple More Seasons Before A Toyota Even Makes The Chase

Has beens or never beens... you list Hamlin... granted he had an amazing year last year... but so did the 9 and look at him now... I dont see your reasoning behind Toyotas not being ready for nascar yet? I know what you mean about the 55 the 44 and a couple others but the 00 and Vickers are both in my opinion great drivers.. to be honest I think that Kyle Busch is one of the best drivers in the series I have an idea he can drive anything with wheels on it, I guess i just dont understand who you think can make a Toyota work...

Exactly. Someone asked on my Nascar forum at the beginning of the year when Toyota would win a race, and I said they wouldn't win at all this year, cause all their drivers suck. Vickers was in the best equipment at Hendrick and did nothing with it. You put Stewart in a Toyota, even right now, and he'd figure out how to win.

They did win a busch race already.
The only issue I take with this statement is who can make a toyota work? The question is...is it really a Toyota? Apart from the engine no, especially in the coming COT era. According to Waltrip the engine lacks torque but not top end power. But Dave Blaney has had some impressive runs including a pole so I would say Toyota is not far off and a drive like Stewart and Kyle Busch could easliy be what they need. It may also force GM, Dodge, and Ford especially to get serious about their program or face extinction in the sport.

Honda is already considering it. And if they jump in everybody better look out.

Toyota usually ONLY plays to win.. BUT in F1 and CUP they are getting their asses handed to them. The one thing we Ford fans better watch out for is Toyota will outspend ANY manufacturer to try and win. Hopefully won't figure it out...
Here are the Budgets for F1 in 2003 and Toyota has UPPED it since! Toyota's budget for F1 is rumored to be about the same as Ferrari now. $443,800,000 Ferrari $353,300,000 Williams $304,600,000 McLaren $290,400,000 Toyota $225,100,000 BAR $206,800,000 Renault $119,500,000 Sauber $ 79,200,000 Jordan $ 78,800,000 Jaguar $ 39,600,000 Minardi

Toyota is just behind in some areas such as the engine and downforce. I go to alot of the races and in the garage area frequently and Toyota is close to turning there program around. NASCAR just allowed them to make changes on the bodies which will give them much more downforce which they were lacking and they have changed the engine package. Before long don't be surprised to see them have an advantage. As far as drivers many of these guys are equal and in NASCAR not everyone has equal equipment. Just because a team has money doesn't mean they have the greatest equipment. In fact some teams are way behind right now because they focus on the wrong stuff, plus the COT is taking alot of added focus. My pick for Yotas to show potential are the #00 and the #83 for this year. I don't like them but they will be strong in the future for sure.
