I have the feeling today's big one is gonna make all the previous wrecks look like fender benders. Just a couple more hours....batton down the hatches!

Looks like the Roush crew had the right idea... unfortunaltey the Hendrick guys were tagging along for the ride/draft... either way... Hendrick is getting all the credit for what the Ford guys worked on in practice... My boy got hung out to dry with 3/4 of a a mile left... to bad for Carl... 200 points behind is gonna be hard to make up!~

And the race was a total waste until right there at the end (like always) then it started to heat up. When Burton blew his engine, I figured there would be more to follow. Poor Dale Jr ![]() |

Canadian Jaques Villeneve did ok. Very proffesional decision to give up his 6th place starting position to start at the rear and finished 21st. Not bad for his first race ever. He waspreviously a cart champion, formula 1 champion and won the indy 500. I think he will do well. He is second generation racer. His father Gilles Villenuve was killed in a Formula 1 race. Another Canadian Patrick Carpentier is to be in nextel next year also.

I'm sure F1 will be happy to keep giving NASCAR their has-beens and old-timers. Have you been using your Penske coffee cup? I have!

If you watched the race just for crashing it was actually pretty boring, and of course as usual the guys all get together and rim ride for a while, but, I thought that the different statagies were pretty interesting and my wife and I were guessing which DEI/RCR engine was going to go next. And I am a JG fan so I was happy with the outcome and again ABC did not do post race interviews thats crap! but to me it was a decent race

I thought it was boring. I was hoping the COT would add some excitement.
It ws boring because the strategies were pretty lame, not much in terms of handling, tires, sequencing, there were no variables really. Did anyone pit out of sequence???? I don't like them riding around for 499 laps like a train, that's not racing. I want to see 3 wide racing, slingshot moves (remember back in the 80's and early 90's when they raced that way)? I'd like to see cars run in much smaller packs (2 or 3 cars) or by themselves. The cars are too areo dependent and I thought the COT was going to fix that (space them out). Too bad, next time I will just watch the last few laps. ![]()
