Anyone with a Magnacharger?

Has anyone here installed a Magnacharger supercharger on their '05+ stang or know anyone with one?

I was talking to a local speed shop (Livernois Motorsports) and they have a Magnacharger equipped GT that got 427 RWHP, I believe they changed out the pulley. Here's the video http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...rger5speed.wmv. I have been seriously considering the Whipple that gets 450RWHP, but this Magnacharger setup is almost $2000 cheaper that a quote I got for the Whipple and it runs on less boost which equals less stress on the motor. Another thing I like about the Magnacharger is that they use a closed off air box for a true cold air kit.

They even offered to send a flatbed down to my house to get the car so I wouldn't have to drive it on the crappy salty roads, at no charge!

Here's another video of a Ronaele (automatic) with a 6 lb pulley that was dynoed with 376 RWHP and ran a 12.97 in the 1/4. http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...gnacharger.wmv

Writing the check for a Whipple is tough. I believe any of the supercharger kits will put a huge smile on your face. I didn't like the jackshaft look of the Magnacharger, but i'm going to spend my time driving it, not staring at the engine. There are so many posts about this one vs. that one, it makes your head spin. I chose the Whipple because it's a twin screw, better design, more efficient. You can't go just on boost pressure, because they pressurize two different ways, and the Whipple's intercooler is larger and will keep inlet temps more stable. I'm also going to beat mine up on the track fairly frequently.
Good luck in your decision, mine should be done Wednesday.

Mike

Yeah I have been thinking alot on this to so far I'm still sold on this Magnacharger cause of all I have found on this.Big plus is that Eaton who supplies the main gutts of the supercharger knows alot about superchargers and Magnacharger who designed the rest to perfect it for the 05+ Mustangs. They at Magnacharger in Ventura,CA are very good at their design dept.Have some friends who work at Magnacharger and they are fricken Rocket Scientists and when they start talking I have to say whoa can't handle all that till you write it down.If you do go for it get the polished one its really cool and only few bucks more but what style it looks.Plus this thing Has 3 lobe style screw type system thats why it flows better then anything out there.More boost, less heat ,less stress on engine and also has large intercooler that is the same size as the radiator.

Head spin is right! Just as I was convinced on the Whipple, I learn about the Magnacharger. Let me know how your's turns out. I talked to Lidio and mentioned about a member from the Roush board coming to see him and he knew right away it was you.

I keep going back and forth between the 2. I'm not crazy about the drive shaft either. Money isn't the issue (got a nice bonus this year ), as long as the Whipple is truely worth it I'll gladly part with the money. God I hate being indesisive!

Thanks for the reassurance!

Not thread jacking, but when you guys get your cars finished we need to get a GTG going! Im sure we can find more members around here that would join!

Glad to see you finally got blown Mike! I think he was the only one at the Roush plant that wasn't blown during the Dream Cruise!

Good Luck Family Man! I agree, the jackshaft looks weird..... Im sure whatever you pick, you will love it!

Thanks Nick, I definitely was the minority. Getting blown sure can put a smile on your face, and a spring in your step. as far as a GTG, come to Daytona.

Sounded like the shift points need to be changed in the auto. Not giving it a chance to wind up.

They are alot a like but with a twist.First they add a extra lobe so it has now three insted of two(still two screw type shafts, just one has three lobes meshing with tight two screw shaft.)The other things are that its a bigger supercharger
M-112 insted of the Roush M-90.Then the jack shaft is added to retain the alternator in stock position for best to keep it cool.See this kind of thought in engineering that pulls me towards the Magnacharger. It comes down to which will last and drive strong.

Hi Guys,
I'm in the exact same supercharger boat as you guys!! Roush vs Whipple vs Saleen(i know .. evil but they make them right up in Troy) vs Magna ...... The magna sounds good .. I don't like the extra exposed belt .... belts fail. I

I'm all but set on the whipple bought from Lethal performance, installed at MRT in Plymouth. (check PM familyman)

I dont know what a GTG is, but if its a local SE michigan group get together, count me in as well. I started the Roush yesterday and went out for a drive .... damn it felt good to drive my car again!!!

See you all around, Ernie
