That looks interesting.

I actually don't notice any lag. Maybe Roush did something with the tune, or maybe not. Personally I am happy with the throttle on my car. I just want more horses under the hood for the throttle to control.

there is not that much lag, it is much better in the 07s, not mine because it is an early build, but the later ones. if you were to jump in a brand new 06 and then a brand new 07 you would wet yourself because of the difference. i know i did! even the ROUSH guys i talked to said that the difference is soooo huge! if you are used to it you really do not realize it, but it is there though. after i got the custom tune it was like WOW, but this would be even better! i am going to buy an extra module and give it a try. it is interesting, i wonder why ford would design that thing like that with those deadspots?? like they said no tune will get rid of the pedal not making contact!

I suspect that the "dead spot" will vary from pedal assembly to pedal assembly due to manufacturing tolerances. I doubt there are any end-of-travel adjustments (both min and max throttle) and Ford's design is probably conservative such that the throttle travel does not starts off somewhere into the throttle range. My S3 is an early '07 and I have quite a bit of this "dead spot" and I don't like it. If the late '07's and '08's are better, that probably means that Ford tightened up their tolerances or redesigned it to improve the issue.

As for messing with the contacts within this assembly, I don't really like the idea of this. The adjustments (bends) you make would be difficult to control not to mention damage the might occur during the bending or later on because you have broken the "seal" to this sealed area possibly allowing contaminants in which could cause corrosion or other.

I am thinking I might try another pedal assembly to see if it improves the "dead spot" but only if I can determine that it is a newer version than the one I have. I might also try fabricating a bracket that would add an stop to allow for an adjustable min travel stop. This way it could be fine tuned without going in and operating... JMO...
