Question Recommendation on tires and rims apreciated

Hi folks,

I just installed a Roush SC on my 2005 GT (auto trans) and was wondering what size tires and rims to install. I am leaning towards 18" but am open to your suggestions.

What tires and rim sizes will work best for a street application.

Thanks

Doug

my thoughts

For the wheels I would go with 18 x 9 up front up front and 18 x 10 on the rear. For tires I would go with 255/45 up front and 285/35 or 295/35 on the rear.

A set of 18x9.5" or 18x10" wheels with 275-40-18 will allow you to rotate your wheels for best tire life and still give you a good footprint. The 18" wheels will allow a brake upgrade later without having to change wheels again. I just upgraded to that size on my 05 last month.

Welcome to the FnFamily Doug! Congrats on your new supercharger, you are gonna LOVE it!!!

Agreed on the wheel sizes. If you want to stay with the Roush look, I would suggest contacting Stage 3 Motorsports and see what they have going on for deals. They had some good specials awhile back and I'm sure they could hook ya up!

Welcome again, and post up more pics of your ride and mods!

The factory offest is +45mm, you may need up to a to +50mm depending on width. However, the wheels I just bought have a +43mm offset and fit well with no clearance issues. I did have to use a thin spacer on the fronts to compensate for my hubs being deeper than expected. A +36mm will also work if the wheels aren't more than about 9" wide, however they aren't optimal. I have a set of 17x9" FRPP Cobra R wheels in the +36 that I ran for awhile until I got the 18's and the fit was pretty good.

These are 18x9.5" with +43mm offset.
