I installed the Ford Racing Ford GT start button today. I got it from here: http://www.lightningforceperformance...ang-p-948.html. If I would have known it was this easy I would have done it a while ago.
The most time consuming part was taking off the center console and dash pieces. You also have to remove some plastic from the backside of the radio surround trim to get the nut to thread onto the button, but my Dremel made quick work of that. Actually installing the start button was very easy. There are only 2 wires that have to be attached to the factory ignition wiring block. Here' a link to the instructions in case anyone has been thinking about installing one.http://www.fordracingparts.com/downl...M-11572-GT.pdf With the button installed, you HAVE to use the button to start the car. You cannot start it by turning the key forward all the way. All you do is insert the key, turn it forward and push the button! The coolness fact is a 10. ![]()
