Question '07 Valve Covers on my '06?????

Last weekend I replaced my valve covers. When I removed my old valve covers and started to put the bolts in the new ones I instantly realized that there are quite a few less holes to bolt the new ones down. The holes that are there line up with the originals on the head. I am leaking a lot of oil on the drivers side and I suspect that I moved the gasket out of place when wrestling it in. I've already triple checked the torque on all the bolts. I'm going to pull it back off when I get some free time; but by any chance does anyone know if it could be do to new covers having less bolts to hold it on??
