    Roush 5.0 Intake - TB Upgrade 65mm to 75mm

I don't know anyone that has done this so maybe i am the first.

Roush included a BBK 65mm TB as part of their intake kit. My car also came with the Roush CNC ported SVO heads as part of the Roush 5.0 kit.

Here are some of the other mods to the car: Anderson B31 cam, 1.6rr, BBK LT's, BBK O/R X-pipe, Spintechs, custom tune. I got it dynoed and ended up with 285 rwhp and 307 tq. I don't think those numbers are very accurate because the dyno operator shut the pulls down a little after 5k. These intakes make their power in the upper rpms. But he shut it down due to what he was calling "excessive drive line vibration". I fixed that though with my new 4" aluminum DS.

Car runs very strong and is responsive. I have been talking to many well known tuners about my intake and what else i can do to it. One suggested a larger TB. So i started on my mission.

    Stock 95 5.0 TB...

Roush - BBK 65mm TB (notice the difference?) Because they used the 86-93 style TB.

Well drove it around today. Runs FANTASTIC! Revs faster and runs smoother. I can hear it sucking more air from the cowl.

After i installed the B31 cam i had some idle issues which was mostly taken care of by the tune and a couple of other tricks. It just seemed to me that the TB was "choking" the car. With this 75mm upgrade the idle issue seems to be eliminated. I plan to get some new Dyno pulls soon.
