    Front tires rubbed raw!?!?

I've had my Roush stage II for 2 yrs. now and ever since I baught it I've noticed a rubbing, almost gringing noise when I cut the wheel too far. (I uncut the wheel when I heard this!) What ended up happening was it stripped the inside of the tire to the point of leaking and going flat. When I purchased new tires I changed the front tire sizes to 245/35 18 (they were 295/35 18) I was hoping the change would make a difference, and it does but not by much... they still scrape. Has anyone else had this problem? Then to make matters worse, the a**hole at the tire shop was arguing with me that my car wasn't a REAL ROUSH!!! Does anyone get that either or is it 'cause I'm a hot chic with a hot car. Please let me know!!!

I'm a hot chick too, and no one seems to hassle me about my car

There is a VERY long thread about this issue in this section. There needs to be "steering rack limiters" installed so that this does not happen. You can order them through Roush, or your Ford dealer can hook you up.

    Cool

What he ... no I she said..

There is a known issue with the camber/tire wear problem. ROUSH or your local FORD dealer should be able to help you out.

BTW, welcome and feel free to search the board on this issue, there should be some good info here.

Tired of that old text SIG block? Want to show off that ride? I can upgrade ya!!!

I am sure your car is equipped w/ the S2 suspension with stock GT caster / camber plates. First make sure it is only an alignment problem, and nothing is damaged reguarding your front end. If you determine you have only an alignment problem, get an upgraded set of c/c plates, realign it and you should be fine. Upgraded c/c plates are a must for lowered stangs!

I really hate to quote myself, but this is the issue right here. The alignment/CC plates/caster/camber stuff is for another issue.

The 2000 Stage 2s had a well documented (well, here at least ) issue with "wheel rub". This was caused when the wheels were turned full-lock (mainly turned to the left). The wheel would rub on the sway bar. Roush figured this out and started installing steering rack limiters. They are plastic bushings that limit the amount the steering rack travels. With the limiters in there, the wheel will not rub on the sway bar. If the car is not a 2000, it is possible the rack limiters are crushed, broken, or otherwise jacked up and need to be replaced.

Roush2960 has a mongo thread about this issue.

Nothing like patting your self on the back.
Carry your Roush window sticker in your car for idots like that(unless you think he might not be able to read) most people don't know what is or isn't a Roush, but you know.
As for your car, I would of taken it back to the Roush dealer, the first time it rubbed.

LOL... Sounds like a lot of the girls we run into down here... "I have a BMW, and I have this and I have that, btw, I'm soooo pretty!"

Bitches need to grow up! (In Rick James' voice).

Also, WhiteRoush, post a pic and I'm sure we'll let you know if you're hot or not- boasting makes you sound kinda bad.

    Wink Got your point!

Ok, Fellas!!! The point I was trying to make was that around here, guys are intimidated by a chic with a car that is hotter and faster than thiers! I wasn't trying to BLOW my own horn. Give some props to chics that know a thing or two about cars. Apparently where I'm from, guys are impressed by chics like myself and don't believe that someone like me has a Roush mustang. And, yes, I will put some pics up and let you judge.

    Good luck with your wheels.

Yeah yeah yeah... you old guys do need to get all you can- I wouldn't like it if time was running out for me too . At my age, I can be pretty picky when it comes to the ladies- there are so many with great faces, figures, and personalities. Too bad they lose some of their look as the years go by... and they love to pack on the pounds (at least in college... you can tell with some girls that they just gain more and more weight year after year). But anyways... lets see those pics so you can prove me wrong .

haha - write your post down and put it away for 15 or so years. You will laugh hard when you read it. You have no idea I pull twice as much box now than I did as a child of your age. You will find when "time is running out", you know what the hell to do with it

We also learn to show respect to all the ladies - not just the bolemic ones

Sorry for the OT post. Had to reply to the silliness

I show respect to all girls, INCLUDING overweight and unattractive ones... I just don't hook up with them. Quality over quantity...

Nothing like getting down to what really matters! BTW, how much do "steering rack limiters" run, and is that something that I can do or do I take it to the dealership?
