Roush suspension install has started

Sunday night and starting to do install of complete roush suspension and 18" Roush Wheels!!
Here is everything in the kit laid on on my drive way. I really like the bluie color of all the parts. Like it was made for this roush .
No instructions in kit at all.

I took Measurements of car height before install. Will see what the new heights are

Rear height with stock wheels


front height with stock wheels.(yikes camera shows the fine scapes on chin ) Guess that's why it is a chin

Took wheels off for more room and of course better pics. Will start the r&r of parts tommorow. Son not here and he wants to help so will post more tommorow and we'll " Get her Done"".
Here is the old springs etc at rear Dam I think them blue parts are gonna look real good

Looks great there tooltime, but you are doing a no no. You are not supposed to jack up the car by the differential housing. (according to the manual)

We did it al in 2.5 hours front and rear

Strated by removing sway bar brackets an lower rear shock bolts. we had the jack to support rear end



Unbolted brake line bracket from frame on both sides so not to dammage line when letting dif. down


we removed sway bar link


Got rear sway bar off

Pulled out rear springs. notice different height. On the new spring the tighter coils go to the top not down like it looks like it should


The supplied new link bars and rubbers for sway bar



Lube for sway bar rubbers was also supplied



we installed the new rear sway bar

They also supplied new rubber bumpers They are bolted to top of dif.

Undid the top shock from inside the trunk


shock length looked the same as stock


Slip in new springs and bolted up shock but with the bigger sway bay had to unbolt sway bar to install shock bolt. When I took it off I took shock bolt off first


here is the spring in place but when we were puting in spring it seemed that the tighter coil should go down. There was roush decals on the springs and with the tighter coils down the decals writing was upside down. Notice how tight the coil at lower spring is. I called roush and tech told me the tighter coils go up. So today I flipped them around
heres's the wrong way.

Rear all done

we started the front Undid the lower shock bolts.


we removed the upper sway bar link that was bolted to the front strut. Alos brake line support bracket and fron ABS line holder.






Undid the top 4 bolts that hold the strut in place.

Here's the top of the strut out of car. Never ever undo the nut in the middle of the strut without the spring compressor tool in place. Could kill ya.


We had to tack apart the stru to reinstall the top part to the new struT. Here we are compressing the spring with a strut spring compresser





now that the spring is compresed it is safe to remove the upper strut nut. Spring will be loose when compresed enough if not then there is still tension on spring and tighen tool more.

They suppled somw new rubber for top of strut. they are a little shorter then original ones.



Here's the old and new springs see the height difference.


There was a plastic liner on bottom coil of old shock.We installed on the new one. without it it could cause squeaks.




we reinstalled the orignal dust shield over new shocks



We compressed the new springs and set in place . there are coil end stops where the springs go. Here's the upper strut plate in place


Reinstalled the strut support nut



Removed the spring compresser tool and struts are ready to install

removed the 2 upper sway bar brqackets and slid out old bar.




removed the stock front links from old sway bar. they are used on the new one. The supplied the new rubber and same as rear sway bar.


bolted the 2 sway bar brackets in place

slid new struts in place
Notice arrow on top of strut. this should point to the outside on both sides.


Reinstalled the top 4 strut nuts and the 2 lower stut bolts


Installed new front sway bar and reattched sway bar link , brkeline bracket and ABS wire to shocks.


Here is the front on. seemed to go by real quick.

Hers' the measurments before and after. i had not taken on the road yet so this was right off the jack. the original was with the stock wheels also. I also will check measurements after running it a bit to see how much it will settle down.
