Just called Roush and was told our BlackJack was fine. This recall mostly affected the 05-06 models.
Thanks! Good to know.Originally Posted by Mrs. Supersnake
I just called Roush to check but I got some guy who didn't even want to check my VIN!
When I asked him if the call would be recorded in case I'm killed in a crash when the strut snapped and he put me through to his manager but I got her voice mail. I'm sure I'll be on top of her list to call back!
We added the Stage 3 suspension this winter to my Stage 1 convertible. When I told the guy that at Roush, he immediately said I wouldn't be effected.
I just want to be sure!
When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane!
I have an 06 Stage 1, would this be considered in the recall?
i believe so... best bet would be to have them (roush and or dealer) run your
vin #'s....
Becareful, she might boil your rabbit.....
I called Roush yesterday and they said it was mainly 05-06 with a few 07s slipping in to that category. They have two lists to check to make sure your VIN isn't affected by any recalls.
I got straight through after listening to Jack guide me on the menu and they were really fast and efficient.
Oh...and mine 07 built in December of 06 was not affected.
Just go my new front struts warrantied under the recall, but they would not touch my shocks that we leaking ike a sieve in the rear,i understand its a 2005 but really they will only last 25000 what a joke

I have a 2008 428R with 6100 miles on it and the front end is making banging noices on both sides when I hit bumps, are these years affected as I also left a voice mail with Roush and awaiting a call back. I do understand that most of these posts are old but if you read this and have any info please get back to me. In the mean time I'm giving the dealer a call, good luck. Thanx.
G9-428R, First check the sway bar links as they can loosen. Second would be to check the strut mounts. There's lots of info on it out there on the web. It's about $100 for new ones and make sure you get the 18183-B or 18183-C versions or the FRPP version. I had a clunk and went away as soon as I replaced them. The drivers side mount actually fell apart when I took it off.

If people were wondering what the recall was about on the front Stage 2 struts was, it's do to a swaybar end link mount weld. Which wasn't good, but later was replaced by a better full weld.
This was on the 2005 - early 2006 Roush Stage 2 suspension only.
Here is the photo of the good type(left), and the bad type(right).
Please note the full welded mount on the left this is what you want.
