Roush won't stand behing my wheels!

I purchased an 05' with 11k last month (pics are below @ My roush thread) and the guy that had it before me took excellent care of the car. I mean there is not a mark on the car. I even challenge my friends too find something wrong and they can't. Anyway, my chrome Roush rims (all 4) are peeling and according to my dealer...Roush will not do anything to help me out. Now, I know I am the second owner and the warranty expired in April but they are saying (accoring to my dealer) that they are out of warranty. Now it is a sport and the guy bought them after he bought the car but not sure exactly when, he thinks in July of 05'. I just think that sucks! Sorry, had to vent!.

if you don;t even know when the wheels were purchased, can you explain how this is ROUSHs fault?!?!

you bought second hand goods with no documentation of purchase or warranty dates?!?!?!

for all you know you could be the 50th owner of these wheels?!?!? you tried to save some money by buying used and now ROUSH and the dealer are supposed to hug and kiss you when you have a defect, LOL. generally parts carry a 12/12 warranty by the way, which would mean that if they were purchased in 05, that ship sailed a long time ago.

not to mention, most aftermarket parts do not transfer to 2nd owners. Unfortunately, you're hosed.

I am sorry about your luck, but have to agree with 07roushgt. When you buy new you pay more, a lot more... thus part of that price is the "service" you get from the dealer/manufacturer of that product to help you with any problem. If you buy it used, they didn't make any money from you, the person you bought it from did, so why should they go out of their way and take a loss on something. Just one of the risks that goes with buying used goods... good luck and hope you get things worked out...

I *believe* ROUSH warranty usually only applies to first owner, like said above.

No it is transferable but i believe the rims only have a 1 year warranty.

If the car was a stage 1,2,3, they are covered for 3-36. But the wheel were added later then I think they only are covered for 12 months.

Yup, S-197 wheels carry the 3-36 warranty. But what it comes down to is that if your out of warranty your out and that's the end of it.

I know this doesn't help Vulcan at all but I must thank you for starting this thread! I was under the impression that the wheels carried a 12 mo./12,000 warranty. I honestly didn't realize it was 3 years. Well, mine runs out... um... TOMORROW! Called my dealer(2 hours away) and I now have an appt for her in the morning. This thread just saved me a bunch of $$$$!

    No, no Geico.

Revisiting this thread, I realize my post was in poor taste. I was excited but should not have made the post. I'm sorry Vulcan.

Just had wife's wheels checked last week. Got one that has started to peel. Now to replacement wheel are not completely chromed. But Roush does have some of the older style in stock so they don't have to replace whole set because of one bad wheel. Still waiting to what Roush is going to do. Only have 2900 miles. Didn't think they were ever going to peel or pit.

I am the second owner of mine and have never had a warranty claim issue. They fixed my "big brakes" that fell apart and did a re-stripe under warranty. I think the issue is that the warranty is expired.

That's what FF of Roseville told me, not that they ever gave sound information anyways...

Happy to see someone got something from this thread.

Like I said in my origional post..."Sorry,just had to vent." I understand Roush's position, I just thought that maybe they would of helped me out a little bit.
