JDM Roush Stage 4 Upgrade Package

Tired of the 380 factory wheel horsepower of your 427r, 428r, Stage 3, or 2005+ RoushCharged Mustang GT? Would a little more boost, better fuel economy*, and tons of throttle response whet your appetite for more power?

If so, JDM's Roush Stage 4 Package is right up your alley - a perfect entry-level modification package to turn your daily driver or weekend warrior into a street and strip terror.

Included in our Stage 4 Upgrade Package is:
    • SCT tuner with one free custom JDM tune
    • 2.57" upper supercharger pulley
    • 90mm idler pulley
    • Autolite HTO spark plugs pre-gapped at .030"
    • JDM Roush cold air kit with 90mm MAF housing

On our in-house dyno, we're seeing 410+ WHEEL horsepower even on 100+ degree days. That's 30 WHEEL horsepower - even using the most conservative numbers of 12.5% drivetrain loss on a stick car, that's over 33 horsepower at the motor!!!

We are opening up our Stage 4 kits to fnsweet members only at the introductory price of:

    $999.99 + shipping

This introductory pricing will not last and is only available to fnsweet.com members. Please call in your orders either to myself or Jim Jr. and have your PCM code, year, transmission type, rear tire size and brand, rear gear ratio, and a list of any modifications you have made to the vehicle ready.

We accept any major credit cards, personal, bank, and certified checks, money orders, paypal, and cash. Tax will not be applied to out-of-state orders. Inside New Jersey 7% sales tax will be applied to your order.

We have these parts in stock, boxed, and ready to ship as Staged kits. Typical orders ship in 2-3 buisness days when the tune is completed (we apologize for this wait, this only happens during race season). FedEx and UPS shipping Ground, 2nd Day, and Overnight services are available. Packages are shipped fully insured and with tracking numbers.

JDM will price match any advertised pricing on our Staged kits provided:
    1. The parts match exactly - brands, sizes, and part numbers
    2. The price is commercially advertised and easily accessible to JDM sales staff

    • this car was equipped with Kooks long tube headers and catted X pipe
    • this car was dyno'd on 91 pump gas on a conservative street tune
    • this measurement was of a JDM mail-order tune, not a custom dyno tune

As pictured, the kit does include the Tuned By JDM badge, normally a $35 value!

We are applying the savings for fnsweet.com members also to the install and dyno tuning services. With any purchase of the Stage 4 kit and a dyno tune, we'll reduce the install cost of normally 3.5 hours labor to 2 hours. So you can walk away with your 410+ whp and a dyno sheet to prove it for a total of $1722.49 + tax, a savings of more than $150!!!

    Some Frequently Asked Questions:

If my car is bone stock now and I'm upgrading to the JDM Stage 4 Kit, is there anything else you suggest doing at the same time?

If you're dealing with a 5R55S automatic transmission, it's always a good idea to go with a JDM automatic catch can ($159.99) as our tunes greatly increase the line pressure in the trans. With a stick car, it's not required, but you might want to keep the P51 clutch disk upgrade ($325) in the back of your mind for the future.

With either transmission, a Roush P51 tensioner ($189) will definitely help with the issue of bending/breaking stock tensioners, and a set of CHE ICM brackets ($109) gets rid of 99% of the factory wheelhop. If you have any questions or would like install prices about anything I just mentioned, please don't hesitate to call.

Why do you use a 90mm MAF housing and not the stock Roush intake setup?

Other than the obvious modified and aesthetic appearance of the cold air induction, the open element filter really lets the supercharger sing. What's the point of having a blower if you don't have the whine?

From a tuning perspective, the 90mm opening has a lot more power potential than the stock tube's smaller diameter. Even with this entry level upgrade kit, that stock tube and meter is quickly maxxed out a 5.00V, after which point the mass air flow sensor doesn't recognize the presence of additional air.

Why is a 90mm idler supplied in the Stage 4 kit?

The Roush factory belt routing uses a very unique sized belt, and much like a GT500, there is no slightly smaller aftermarket belt available for the smaller supercharger pulley. The 90mm increased diameter idler keeps proper tension on the belt in the absence of a shorter belt.

Is this SCT tuner and tune a 'canned' tune or a custom tune? What parameters in it can I change? Why does JDM use an XCAL2 versus an XCAL3?

The tune is custom calibrated to your vehicle, that's why we ask all those questions for the tune sheet and why it takes the time it does to make one. These are not generic values copy and pasted off of SCT's site, these are changes to the factory PCM coding based on the modifications you made to your vehicle.

The only parameters JDM leaves unlocked are gear ratio and tire size - additional parameters can be left unlocked for additional cost and at the signing of a liability waiver, however we advise you to trust Jim Sr. and let his more than 15 years of SCT tuning experience do the work for you.

We stand behind the SCT software and the XCAL2 flash device rather than the highly-marketed LiveWire and XCAL3 units for many reasons, but chiefly because it works. It's a tried-and-true unit that can take a beating and keep on ticking and does not have all the reliability issues of the newer units. Many of the features of the newer units that the XCAL2 is advertised as not having are not even up and running yet, so what's the point?

*Obvious common sense applies. Fuel economy is largely dependent on vehicle condition, tire pressure, extra ballast, and driver behavior.

Very nice package and well described. I'm sure JDM will and should push the upgraded tensioner arm with these as it wouldn't be very smart to do all that work and leave the tensioner arm as is now would it. Sweet setup guys!

Thanks guys, we push them really hard even on Saleen cars because for $189.00 it's easy piece of mind and as far as we know we're the only one selling it.

The idea with the kit was it's hard to stay competitive in today's market but let's find the best price out there on the internet and throw spark plugs into the mix and hope it sends some people our way - we'll see!

I always thought that the STAGE 4 moniker was reserved for the Roush Cobras....but since we are STILL putting out more Horsepower (by 100+ numbers by the way), we might want to move RC's up to STAGE 5 or 6.

    Nice kit though guys.

We decided on the "Stage 4" for the S197 cars because in these years only the 1, 2, 3 are offered.

We also offer a "Stage 5" where we add longtubes and catted X, heat exchanger, fuel system, GT500 injectors, 12% lower overdrive pulley, belt tensioner, and a dyno tune for street and race fuel. We're working on pricing and advertising as a kit special as I type this.

Some have even taken it farther than this, adding drag radials, Bogarts, rear suspension, anti-roll systems, etc. but past that point we don't offer anything as a formal package.

As I have always said Jack set the Stages and everyone else is just doing the normal mods to make a difference. Nice mod JDM though.

Well unless you have one hell of a driver mod, you might wanna throw a minus sign in front of that 4 of yours.

j/k, just having fun with the new guy, it's all good.

I have a guy running stock suspension, drag radials, aluminum driveshaft, 4.10s, long tubes with cats, 100 octane tune, stick car going 11.80s if that gives you some benchmark. 20" wheels.

tires and gear being the biggest difference, you're looking high 12s as you are, traction limited. any mustang first mods should be sticky tires and 4.10s or steeper.

    So true,
This is me running no charger, stock, 20inch Foose wheels,
Car weighed 4050 lbs. with all the luggage in the trunk, tire shine on wheels, and full tank of GAS.
Well I spun on take off and staged early but still pulled off a Reaction time of .248, 60ft of 2.020 and a 1/4 at 13.92. and still beat a fellow sleeper at the light FN-SWEET member.

Do you offer a mobile dyno tune and installation service for your CAI kit in the bay area of California? Or do you have authorized installation shops for your products? I live about 30 minutes east of San Francisco in the city of Dublin, CA. Your installation price of $1,799 seems very reasonable.

Hey Shrek, you sent me the same exact email right? If you didn't get it, I suggested the guys at Stillen, we've worked together on quite a few stuff and they're one of the companies I'd trust out west.
