    Replacing the turn signals

I did a search but cant find my answer. Are the orange lens turn signals on a Roush the same as the factory OEM turn signals? I want to change the ugly orange lens signals to some clear ones, but I'm not sure if the Roush and OEM are the same. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yep - they are identical. I changed mine out to clear ones, and put amber bulbs in so it is still "legal". (Pay no attention to my avatar picture - that was taken a few years ago) I can take pictures if you want so you can see how they look.

Bought and installed GT ones from American Muscle awhile back. Perfect fit and works as intended. You will have to take your front tires off to install them.. just prepare mentally for it and its all good. (Maybe.. I have 20" rims so if you have 18's, you may have more clearance.)

Don't have to pull the tires. Just turn them so they are out of the way.

I tried that.. fought it for about 30 minutes and caved in and pulled my tires..lol The opposite end hits the tire on 20's when you are angling into that clip hole on the far end of the light. Can't get it back far enough to get it in there.

Thanks for all the quick responses. I'm glad to hear they are the same. Going to order some up.... I'll get the rear clear marker lens at the same time. Do you have to run a colored bulb in the new lens or just use the same clear bulbs? I'll post some pics when all is said and done.

Pretty sure you'll need colored bulbs.

Are you also going to do the rear marker lights in clear? That would look pretty sweet too, with red/yellow bulbs for legal/safety reasons of course.

I got my clear lens installed yesterday. I got a set that included both fronts and both rears. Everything installed smooth and easy. Heres a couple pics, let me know what you think:

Isn't it amazing that a simple small plastic piece can make that much of a difference? It went from an eyesore to a perfectly blended setup that looks 100 times better.

I got mine from AM.. Only reason was that there Raxiom brand is very well put together. Only aftermarket lights I have owned that I didn't have to seal myself so water didn't leak in. So after getting heads and tails, it just came down to trust on the sides, fogs, turns and 3rd brake lights.

Thanks, I agree its amazing how something that simple makes such a difference. I got them on ebay for about $50 shipped. Worth every penny and had a nice OEM fit to them.

I just did this mod last month.

I've been crazy busy, so I haven't done any write-ups - I have about 5 or 6 to do, and this is one of them.

Anyway, I was addressing intercooler upgrades as well as HID foglights so I pulled both front wheels and the whole front fascia when I did mine, but, yes, they are identical to the factory ones, and, yes, you need amber bulbs to be legal in most states.

Once you access the area, installation is simple plug and play.

One quick note. If you are going to do the rear side markers too, you don't need to get into the truck to remove them. A plastic sharp flat body tool will pop them right out in ten seconds.

Those clear ones look great. I went with smoked ones off ebay for around $35. They came with amber bulbs too. Have had them for at least 2 years and no issues.
