thanks fry. i was just curious because stangnet is selling some gears for $199.99. is that a good price or a rip? i think i might put in 3.55s or 3.73s down the road.

Roushman15 thats a RIP-off. Look around they can be had for a cheaper $$. Unless that includes shipping to u then thats a deal?

I am in same boat, I cannot decide between 3.55's and 3.73's

I am leaning towards 3.73 or 4.10 gears. I will probably end up going with 3.73, from what everybody says on stangnet, 4.10 are not too steep, but i'm not gonna take a chance. I'm not sure if you will see that much difference with 3.55 compared to the stock 3.27.

    gears

Guys just had 373s put in my car. When I first got it back I could not tell any difference but after you drive the car a while and run thur the gears a different rpms you are sure to fell like you have a different car. The best part is crusing around in third gear, there is no hesitation on the gas at all, when you are ready its ready. What a great mod. I have around 700.00 in the mod that includes the gear, oil, Dmanns chip, plugs, thermostat and install.

ive had 4.10 in my car for about a year and there great for cruising around town because they keep the RPMs up (loudness is good) and the are awesome pickup wise, but they are killing my gas mileage, since im going down the highway at 3000 RPMs. im gonna switch to 3.73 pretty soon. one question, should i go aftermaket, or are the Ford Racing gears good?

You can not go wrong with FRPP. I have FRPP 3.73s in my S2. I love these gears. I can imagine how much fun 4.10s would be but like you said, "GULP!" ;-) The cheapest place for FRPP is over at http://www.gefracing.com

    Hey roushman,

Do you ever get over to Mo, there is a car show on Aug 12 in KCMO, if you can make it. I posted some info on "Events/Gatherings." You can email the email address at the end of the post and get an info pack. Hope to see you there.

    Xcler8,

I know of so many mods we could do with that 500 bucks.

*I will talk you into something one of these days!*

I should start by saying.....the GT comes with an 8.8"....V6s have 7.5" rear ends. Both come with 3.27:1 gears.

My Stage 1 V6 now has 7.5" T-Lok, 3.73:1 gears, and an Aluminum Driveshaft.

I like them a lot.....and they were a good compromise. However, there are times when I wish I'd gone for the 4.10s.
