Squeaking Windows

Have any of you had a problem with your windows squeaking when you get them up about 3/4 to the top or vice versa when you first roll them down. My stage 2 used to do this and the S3 been doing it since I bought it. How did you fix it???

This has been a notorious Ford problem. I believe there is a TSB on this, so I would take it to your dealer and have them take care of it.

Mine just started doing the same... I thought they were dirty and that didnt seem to fix it either...

I called Galpin Ford yesterday where I purchased the car and the guy in service said there was not a TSB on this and to try some wax on the window and if that does not work to bring it in and they will take a look at it. I will have to do that some time in the future. I just hate taking my car in for bullshit stuff like this because in the past on some of my cars they just say they can't find anything wrong, you know how it is.

By the way, I just raced a 96 C4 corvette the other day, and he could not catch me. I got up to around 110 mph and them let off because it was getting a little scary with traffic, etc and of course he passed me just to do it. There is a guy around my work who has a blue Z06 and one day the time will come when there is not much traffic on this open road. All I want to do is keep up with him and to see the look on his face. Oh yeah, I really dusted an Acura NSX and he was really pissed off. He motioned me to pull off the road and we talked about Roush for about a half hour.
Roush has really done a wonderfull job with the S3, pulls really hard to red line. I am a little ticked about the new Cobra, but there will always be something faster and it really depends on the driver, etc with quarter mile times. But, is MM&FF i saw an article where they were getting 380+/-wrhp from that fucker!!!

Also, I took my S3 out to California speedway again, and I really had fun in the car. Did any of you see my car on Speedvision? They did a small story about two to three weeks ago about the even which was sponcered by Galpin Fod. Mine was the yeloow S3.

It was the inner track and California Speedway, lots of turns and two straights. They did not post times as the even was suposed to be just for fun. You can see a picture of the track at socalsvtoa.com. There were lots of cobras and lightnings, two S3's and two S2's. The other S3 was a red 360R which was loaned to Galpin from Roush. Roush even had a hand is sponcering the event. I had a fning great time!!!!! The S3 was totally in its element.

Just thought you guys would want to know............

After I washed my car this weekend I put some Mothers liquid carnuba wax on the windows. I really helped eliminate most if not all of the squeaking windows.

Yeah sometimes i do get a sqeaky window......its only sometimes though....

You were right in assuming dirt....but once it starts and gets in the motor just cleaning the window won't help..that is where the wax came in handy. Every Ford has a tendancy to do it......including my friends focus!

lol.........I am Saleen pride = ). But I am Roush pride too! They both have their good qualities......basically I want to just learn as much as possible and be of assistance if I can........I know a few other Saleen owners who post on here as well = ). You guys should check out saleen.com if you are open-minded.

I went on the Saleen site and someone was talking about a Saleen 03 Cobra. (Haven't been there for a while). Wouln't that be nice for around $42,000. I think people with the S3's would have to watch out for those on the road. I don't know if they will really do it, as they have the 281E car already. there is definately going to be someone who is going to put the Saleen body kit on. Saleen and Roush have to step up the horses to compete with the Terminator. Dontcha think????

I had the same window sqeaking problem. Both drivers and passenger side windows on my vert. Drove me crazy. I told my Dealer about it when i took it in for maintance. Don't know what they did, but it hasn't squeaked since.

they will be making a few 03 saleen cobras...... a Saleen buddy of mine ordered one...... after going back and forth with them for a couple of months they decided to make one...... still not sure what they will change though.

I also have the noisy window but only notice it on the drivers side.

minez sqeaks alot rite after i wash it....or when it rains...and there is a line that appears on the window.

GUYS....this window squeaking thing is very easily fixed. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and tell them you want some silicone spray. preferably the NON-OIL type. now this only cost like 2 or 3 dollars. now go to your stang and at the windows spray in that little rubber triangle at the front bottom of the window. it's like a little rubber boot. spray in the track of that. THIS IS THE PROBLEM....trust me.
You do that once and they will never squeak again. i have 2 of the 2002 stangs and both squeaked but not anymore. The problem is ...that boot is sucked up to the window pretty tight and just needs a little lube(non-oily).
Thats all you have to do. You will have to use that little straw thing that comes with the spray since you are gonna spray in that track.
HOPE THIS HELPS YOU GUYS OUT. TRUST ME IT WILL. even after raining or washing your car, the squeak will not come back.
