    Question 2001 GT Grill

Can anyone give me pointers on replacing the grill on my 2001 GT? I bought a chromed stock honeycomb grill from Stangparts
and I'm having some trouble getting those screws with the plastic
inserts out of the top of the grill/radiator cover and can't even seem to see how to get at the ones on the bottom of the grill.
    Thanx in Advance

Your best bet is to get a panel puller from either a Car Audio installer or Pep Boys/Auto Zone/Advance etc. You'll only get more and more frustrated trying to unscrew them out and the above mentioned tool makes it a breeze. As for the ones in the bottom only patience and a small hand will work. Take your time and they will unscrew neatly from the clips that hold the grill to the bumper fascia.

They are a bear to get out until you learn this little trick. Get a tiny screwdriver and wedge it very carefully between the screw and the insert, then push up slightly while using another screwdriver to back the screw out. Here are a couple pics that may help.

To get the Bottoms Ones Out you have to physically pull the grille towars the front and the grille along with a part of the bumper cover will come forward and you will have access to the bottom screws from there, If your satnding in front of your stang just grab and pull staright towards you to make it short and sweet

Yup that's the way to do it.. They need the upward pressure on the threads to screw out.
