    Installed new mod tonight....

I installed the Trac Adapt module from Pony Express Performance. Here are before and after pics:

    Pretty cool, huh?

Easy install, about 15 minutes. Seems to work fine. Designed to remember the last position your traction control was set. I usually turn mine off while I drive, so this will just keep the thing off until I turn it on.

    I am so lazy sometimes

    Question

Awsome!!!! I have been waiting for this device for three months, always seem to forgot turning off this little switch al least once while at the drag strip ..... They say it's back ordered until Oct. 01, You must know someone.

Q: It looks like it's a black box like the tach adapter I purchased ? I though it was going to be a new switch you swap out, what are the details? I looked on the installation FAQ's and it's not listed yet.

    Thanks,
    JC

JC - it is a little black box like the tach adapter. It splices into the wiring for the traction cont switch.

Didn't know anyone, but I had put my name on a Beta testing list, and they notified everyone on that list when the first run was ready. So, I just got in early.

hey kev - I know this may be a dumb question but.... why do you drive with the traction control off all the time?? the only time I'd think to turn it off would be when I would be doing a burnout....

Good question. I just like to know what to expect from the car. When I goose the car, I like to know that I am going to go. The trac control kind of takes over and does what it thinks is right.

I have had the trac control kick on while freeway driving. Downshift and start playing with others and the trac can kick on. I think there is a higher likelyhood of it doing that with the S3 because of the power/torque/tire combo.

Trac control is good - when the roads are wet or slick. Otherwise, I like to have kev- control.

There's nothing quite like trying to hustle out into traffic, having traction control kick-in and pull power! It should be off unless road conditions warrant turning it on.
