    Question CD Changer Control Cable

I have a factory Ford head unit but would like to install a aftermarket CD changer. Is there an adapter that will convert the OEM CD changer cable plug to RCA jacks that will plug in to a standard CD changer?

    Hey stranger

Check out crutchfield.com or sounddomain.com but I highly doubt it. There is not a lot to be done with the stock setup. You may have to go with the FM modulated style of changer. I had one in my '87 and it did quite well.

    CD changers from hell

From personal experience I hated the stock CD changer, mine went psycho about 3 weeks after I bought the car (brand new) and would randomly start spitting out disks, and changing from CD to Radio, then it would just shut off, and then turn on....the thing was possessed. I thought it would be relatively easy to just plug in a new aftermarket set up....boy was I dead wrong, The Mach system isn't compatible with any other on the market accept ones from Ford. So, that means that I had to have the entire thing re wired. of course at that point, I figured that as long as they were in there, they might as well do the whole thing. So I had them install a nice DVD/TV/CD/CDchanger/NAV/radio/sirus setup. anyway, it took them damn near 16hrs to do the whole car, and most of that was rewiring everything. well, good luck to you.
