Installing alcons on 02 stage 3 this weekend

Hey guys,

Should be getting my Alcons from Stage 3 today. Anything else I should do while performing the upgrade? Replace wheel bearings, tighten anything up, etc..

I have also printed all the stuff from a search of Alcons, but any tricks of the trade that I definitely don't want to miss.

Can't wait to put these puppies on. Thanks

Hey Lamar, How's things in Texas? I'll be at FFW in September. Hope to see you there!
Anyway, While you have the old calipers off I would bleed the brake fluid and put in fresh DOT 4. Also when putting on the front calipers make sure you measure the gap on the inside and outside of the caliper to rotor. Use the supplied shims to make the gap even. You will have to have the brakes completely installed and pressure applied to measure the said gap.
If I were you I would order some HAWK HPS pads while you have everything apart as well. You are gonna be hating the Alcon brake dust real quick!
Any questions about the install just gimmie a shout.
Doug

Doug,

Thanks my friend. Soggy but doing ok. Definitely will be there at FFW, hope to have few new tricks - Alcons, Chromies and pulleys this weekend and hope to have a new painted CAI and rear end work soon (3.73s, roush cover, etc.). If you get down before september give me a shout, the Roush population is definitely growing here in North Texas.

We will be down next month sometime to go to Six Flags. I think 1Bad06Roush (Mike) is going with us. You are more than welcome to go as well. I'll PM you my number in case you have a question about the install.
