Rev Limitier

Is there away to "adjust" the rev limiter? sometimes it kicks in at around 4000 other times it hits at about 5700, I know I'm not supposed to hit it at all but when I don't know where it is going to kick in I don't always have a choice. Can't I just pull out the rev chip like they do in NASCAR? could this have anything to do with my gears being 3:73's

I'm assuming this happens at WOT...??
It sounds like it could possibly be traction control kicking in.

It does happen at wide open throttle, but I don't have a traction control button and I don't get a little wheel light up on my dash.

Seriously??!??!?

The Trac. Contrl. button should be in front of the shifter, between the fog light and defroster buttons.

I don't know, that's weird. I thought it was still on the '04s..... Check out your owner's manual and see what it has to say.

Yeah, pretty interesting. I thought they would still be on the 04's as well. Good recommendation to check out the owner's manual. Hopefully it'll be of some help.

Traction control was an option all the way through 2004. Our 2004 GT (Faleen) does not have ABS or traction control.

The problem you might be having is that your rev limiter is kicking in at the same RPM all the time, but your needle is not showing accurately.
