Roush Alcon Brake Question

Has anyone had any fitment issues with these brakes and non-Roush wheels? I am assuming they will fit my BBS wheels but am just curious to see if anyone has experienced issues.

As long as you have at least an 18" wheel...I believe you will be just fine.

Thanks Tony. I got that impression reading some of the older threads I found when I did a search but just wasn't sure.

Trust me...I've been researching the brake thing...I'm still working on my Wilwood SL6 brake upgrade..it's been a work in progress.. Get those things bolted up and take some pics for us would ya? They should look great behind your BBS wheels!

make sure the offset is not less than +28mm as there is only about 5-6mm space between the back of the Roush spokes (18x9" w/ +28mm offset) and the alcon brake caliper.

5 millimeters = 0.196850394 inches

Also I believe they will fit the BBS wheels b/c I know they fit the FR500 18x9 replicas w/ +24mm offset.

On second thought...I was pretty sure they fit on the FR5s b/s FNSWEETS3 has them on his S3, however as I'm looking at the BBS wheel specs, the 18x8.5" wheels have a +24mm offset...that will be very close.

Ok now, really silly question - where exactly do I measure the offset? Hard to tell from the pics but they are appreciated!

I just looked at these wheels on the BBS site but didn't see any offset info.

offset is the measurement from the rims mounting surface to the center line of the rim

most wheels will advertise the offset.

Found it I think. Saw on another web site that this wheel should have of offset number of 25. Think that will work?

That will work just fine..like I mentioned before..might be a bit close, but you are in better shape than I am @ +24mm offset with my FR5s. Get 'er done!

Thanks Doug. I have never done much with brakes so installing these could be one bad experience!! Not sure when I will make the attempt. I guess I need to go get some jack stands!

The most difficult thing you will face is bleeding the brake lines.....It's all you man!

Rusty, if you need to, bring your wheels over and try them on my car.

Thanks Todd. I have the brakes here at the house now and will spend tomorrow getting them ready for install. When the install actually happens is a crap shoot right now!! Soon though! Thanks again!

Well crap! Went over to Star Driver's this morning and tried my wheel on his Stage 3 to see if the BBS wheel would work with the Roush Alcons....in a word - NOPE! So now I 'll have to look at a couple of options including contacting BBS to see if these wheels come with different offsets and possibly buying a couple of new front wheels if they make one that has a little more offset. The fit was soooooo close! @*%@&*@!!
