Last set of D/R's

Well, as much as I have enjoyed the car hooking up on the street, I came very close to wiping out the RC yesterday. Coming out of a lite shower at 70 mph into a heavy downpour and decelerating, the back end came loose and at a 40 degree angle toward the passenger side and as I corrected ever so slightly it was still and overcorrection and the rear oscillated out to 25 degrees to the drivers side. I calmly added about half of the steering correction I originally put in and the car suddenly snapped straight again.

whew! that was a close call, I never want to come that close again.

After correction and checking for seat stains, I looked to my left only to see two more cars, one of them a Mustang wiped out in the center grass median.

If had either Mickey Thompson ET's or BFG D/R's I would have been on my roof for sure. Also, I drive the car a minimum of 40 miles a day so these Drag radials are only good for about 4 months, and thats if I don't do any burnouts.

So looks like after this pair wear out, I'm back to street rubber for a while. At least till the summer showers are over.

Driving it in the rain??? Oh thats right, its florida I really like the bfg kdw 2's for the water but have never pushed the issue. As wide as these tires are I dont trust any tread in the water. They also have alot more road noise imo but the looks sure make up for that.

Glad you didnt overcorrect bud

Just because it rains here every other damn day lately..I have been fortunate enough to push the BFG KDW2s pretty hard...I do not recommend it, but I have been on the highway and ran 85-90 mph in the rain (no other cars around) and I would only have had myself to blame for an accident, but the BFGs held just fine. I would never do this anytime other than just the one time that I had done it. At normal hwy speeds the tires do very well in the rain and I have no complaints. This is the second set of these tires that I have had on my S2 and as long as you drive responsibly they stick very well in dry and in wet. Dry performance is superb, but I can only speak for an N/a application, I'm sure you blown guys have reason for some traction issues. Wet traction is much impressive as well...much better than the Toyo Proxes that I ran on the car when I purchased it 3 yrs ago.

I take it you were driving home from the track right? Reckon there was more throttle control than braking huh?
