I'd get a second opinion. Also, if this is not your primary car, I'd put some cardboard under the tranny and see where the leaks are coming from. If it leaks like they said, spot in front and back, it could be true. I'd also take the time to wipe down the bottom of the trans to make sure fluid is not running from front to back. Mileage and trans type would also help..

If your car is a v6 it prolly has the Tremec T5 in it.
V8s have either a T45 or T3650 All of these trannys, especially the T5, can be found used very cheap. I bought a T5 and T45 for 250 each just install or get installed for bout 100 or so.... Tranny shops always sell the rebuild even if you dont need it. Ebay brother |

The Kwik place is a very large chain in Texas, not saying that's a good thing, I can't go into the details, but, I would shy away from the Kwik locations...they are very similar to Jiffy Lube type places...NOT ASE Certified etc. Don't get me wrong, some of the best old school cats don't hold a certification.

The mileage is in the 90,XXX. It's my primary car. Now that you mention it, I have only seen it leak from the front. Luckily it's not a huge leak, but a leak nonetheless.
I've been thinking of swapping out the AODE tranny with a T-5. I know it's possible, but I need to do more research to see if anyone has run into any problems with this kind of swap. If I decide to go this route, I don't want to shell out over $1,000 to rebuild my current tranny. But I do want to fix the current leaks. I'm going to try to take the car to Eagle Transmissions this weekend and have them visually inspect it. I'm also going to try and find another shop and get a quote from them as well. Thanks for all the help guys!
