Question Aftermarket Intake Manifolds

Haven't seen much on this subject, but if I am planning a forced induction sometime in very near future, what type of intake manifold could I use for a NA application and then use it when I decided to go with a Procharger/TT setup? Has anyone had any experience with the Professional Products intakes? I was looking into this kit as it seemed fairly reasonably priced. If there are no negatives, then I may go right ahead and pick it up and be the test mule...

I had the professional products typhoon intake. Before I started my blower project.
My first impression on it was that it looked VERY cheap. The casting looked like it was molded and then chiseled out with a fn hammer. It was terrible looking. The overal design was nice but it looked like crap. Also, two of the threads were stripped in the plenum mount holes when I received it.
Try to find one cheaper if you are really interested in it. There are also a bunch of threads on Modular Fords about that intake. I haven't seen many people post much positive about it but it may be a step better than the stock one.

The trick flow would be my next choice. I'm convinced that trick flow makes some great products. I'll probably keep my eye out for an ebay deal on the trick flow unit...I too have heard great things regarding the P51 intake manifold as well.

p51 rocks, but from what ive heard its only when youre blown.

The trick flow looks exactly like a bullitt intake doesnt it? I wonder if the Throttle body comes with it or if you must purchase that seperately?

The trick flow unit looks just like the bullet intake! And no..it does not come with the throttle body or plenum. And it can be ordered from Summit racing for $799.99. I saw nothing on the Trick Flow website regarding postponed production.

I just bought the same kit from RPMoutlet.com, in the Houston Area, including a lower spacer, intake, throttle body, upper plenum and new intake gaskets, shipped for less than $700 all in polished. Because they're in Texas I had to pay sales tax too. I ordered it on August 1st and the in stock parts arrived in Austin on the 2nd. The plenum and spacer have been back ordered but the polished intake looks pretty nice. I got a much better price calling them than was posted on the web. I ordered the 70mmTB but was shipped the 75mmTB and need to exchange that. As soon as the rest arrive, I'll let you know how the install goes. I've heard there may be some "fitment issues" but have yet to hear from anyone who has personally had problems.

I am already familiar with the quality of the Professional products as I installed a PP polished plenem and TB on a friends GT here just a couple months ago. I've been researching and I strongly believe that the Trick Flow Track Heat intake manifold is a better flowing manifold. AND you don't need the upper plenum to go with it. Just a TB up to 75mm.

Well, have a seat and let me tell you a story.

RMP Outlet sucks to do business with. They are very nice and easy to work with when you place an order but if there are problems, their Customer Service SUCKS.

As in my previous post, they back ordered the upper plenum and sent the wrong TB which I had to return, shipped pre-paid. I waited for weeks for the rest of the parts and kept hearing “Next week…Two weeks…etc” I called Professional Products directly and was told the plenums had been on back order from the factory for quite awhile and none of their distributors had any in stock. (Did RPM Outlet tell me this when I placed the order?...NO!) Because I didn’t want to wait any longer I called RPM Outlet to upgrade to an Accufab plenum and TB (for an additional $175) and was told it was in stock and would be shipped directly from Accufab. After waiting a few days, I called Accufab to see where my parts were and was told RPM Outlet had not placed the order. Well, I went back and forth with RPM Outlet and Accufab, the order was finally confirmed and shipped to me in a timely manner.

RPM Outlet would not respond to specific questions via email and Customer Service is only there from 10:00am to 4:00pm Central Time, Monday through Friday. (How does that fit into your schedule?) The phone is ALWAYS busy. I would have to put the number on speed dial and keep trying over and over to get through. It was not uncommon to take 20 minutes or more to get through. If you don’t have anything to do, try calling (281)261-6892 and see how long it takes to talk to someone. Did I mention that their Customer Service SUCKS?

When we went to install everything I was going to have a local speed shop install a set of gears and the intake stuff. Guess what, the lower intake gasket RPM Outlet sent me was wrong and we had to get one locally for the install. I then had to ship that one back (pre-paid) too. So, now I’m out almost $20 in shipping fees not to mention the hassle factor. When I asked about getting the shipping charged back, they said I “changed the order” on the TB and upper plenum and they would refund the cost of the gasket but not my shipping expenses. Well, I raised hell, finally got to speak to a Supervisor and he agreed to refund the return shipping charges. Guess what, they can’t credit my credit card but will cut me a check and they only do that once a month. He said I should receive it last week or this week. I’m still waiting on that check. Keep in mind, the original order was placed on August 1st and it is now November 13th!

The parts installed with no problems and I can feel the improvement in performance but I don’t know how much to contribute to the gears and how much is a result of the intake stuff. What I do know is…RPM Outlet SUCKS!!!!!

I have heard as much about RPM outlet, I will never do business with them .

I have the Reichard Racing intake, and must say it is awsome!! But not everyone has the money to drop on one.

Is your motor built or blown? I could drop that kind of cash on big dollar build or something...but not just for an n.a stocker.
