The tank is held up by the straps. The best way to remove the cover I have found is to burn as much fuel as possible to lighten the tank. Jack up the rear and support it with jackstands. If you have another set of jack stands there should be a small lip on the sides of the gas tank you can place jackstands under. Now you can remove the straps, but watch for the tank to drop as well. The tank will probably come down alittle bit, but remember it is held in place by the filler tube, the jacks are there to keep from damaging the filler tube if the tank decides to come out.
I will be doing this yet again this winter and then will be painting the cover RED ![]()

Thanks Sonic, good info there...think I'll try it that way first.
Brian now you've done it! Another mod I really want to do! LOL...Thanks for the link man I love those colored covers...They even have a white 94/95 with my saleen covers! Prices seem pretty good too... Now just to decide which color, white or black?? My area under the bumper is already black from the factory so I don't really know which way to go yet.

Good idea...I like the look of the white better...I cleaned & Armor-Alled the cover & it looks newer & black again...better than road grime but there is no break from the black cover & the black section of the bumper...White it is! Thanks Bill & Brian.
