Timing

Anyone know what the timing should be at idle on the 4.6SOHC?

Mine is around 15-17 degrees at idle. Just wondering if that is normal. It seems like I have a bit of a rough idle and was wondering if the timing is off a bit.

Timing adjuster. Reflash/handheld tuner.
Or loosen and turn the distributor....

Check/clean the Idle Air Control valve (IAC) and the Mass Air Sensor (carefully). This simple task will resolve 80% of rough idle issues

It's small and has a flat cap, and is back behind the intake. The wires are up under the fuel rails.

You guys know I'm just f'ing around, right? lol
There actually ARE "plug wires", and are upgradable. They just go from the coil packs to the plugs.

I don't think any of the posts have been B.S, but whatever.
Your timeing is adjusted by your PCM, you have no way to adjust it manually

Yea but since I tore the engine apart and rebuilt it I was just checking to see if my timing was back to where it was supposed to be.

Umm... Yeah you do. My first post; Timing adjuster, reflash, chip, or handheld tuner.
Your PCM can adjust ITSELF within a certain range that's determined by a multitude of variables.

As for where you should be, I'm not sure.....
