2002 V6 questions

Ok, quick question: My folks have a 97 Stage 2 Cobra convertible, and we were going to take the extra Roush Body parts we have laying around and build a clone for Mom to drive, since they hardly drive the 97 anymore...I have been looking relatively hard, and haven't found a good deal on a 97-98 convert like theirs, but a buddy of mine called the other day, a guy he works with just picked up a 2002 V6, mineral gray, 5 speed couple for his wife, said it's a Roush Stage 3. I told him there was no such thing as a Stage 3 V6, but in any case, he said it has the front bumper, side skirts, exhaust, and JR edition sticker on the quarter glass. The guy wants $8,200 for the car, it's got 18" gray bullets on it, and no damage on the title that we know of.

So, other than getting the VIN, is there a way to see if it's real? I know it's not a lusted after Roush, but for mom to drive a couple times a week, it would be fine. There should be a Jam sticker on an 02, correct? How about other stickers, windshield? What about the dash plaque, not used on a V6? And, how many V6s are there on the board? I looked at the prod. numbers page, and see they only made 67ish V6s, so that's not a lot.

Tell me your thoughts, my mom and dad are kind of up in the air. possibly real, ready to go newer V6 Roush, or Cloned, faster, more valuable (and also more expensive up front) 97 Cobra vert. They'd save aroudn 4-5,000 by just buying this and being done with it. Lemme know! Happy new year, Justin

PS- he bought it for his wife, and she drove it 3 days, she doesn't like to shift! So he's looking for an auto convertible for her now.

Should have a sticker in each door jamb. One in the driver's side stating it was modified by RPP, another in the passenger's side with the serial number.

Aside from that, it's really a choice y'all will have to make as to which road to go down.

We're going to look into it a little closer, my folks are thinking about it. I guess my mom likes it, I haven't seen the car, but my buddy said it looks really good. MY dad said he'd put lowering springs in it, and call it good. If it's not just a clone, I think getting the 02 would be a good deal. If not, we'll see. It's basically my mom's choice right now.

As for me, I think I finally got the motor from my Fairmont sold, so I can pop the motor out, and get started on my swap this month maybe!
In case anyone cares, I believe, according to my internet searching, I'll have the ONLY Cobra powered Fairmont in existence! There is a guy with a baby blue Fairmont, he stuck a Lincoln DOHC in it, but mine's cooler.

I want to take it to Car Craft in 08, I have been promising my buddies I'd go there with them for about 4 years now. It's a 5 hour drive for me, it's silly that I haven't ever been there! I want to compete in the 0-60-0 challenge, I think with some sticky tires, and some upgraded pads, the 3,000 pound with me in it Montstr has a pretty good shot, especially with a few bolt ons and a gear swap! Anyway, back to work! Have a good one, Justin

A Stage 2 aleady has the Roush suspension on it! No need to lower it further unless you need to plow snow...

V6 Stage 1 had Roush V6 springs. V6 Sport lacked the springs, wheels and the wing.

Get the V6 Roush.
