Oil Pressure Gauge Port
I searched, but everything I found was for 05+...
From Autometer's website Installation Tech Info: Oil Pressure Gauge Thread Size for 4.6L engine(s) M14 x 1.5, althouth a 1/4" NPT port may be in the oil filter adapter I am guessing I do not need to buy the M14 adapter, and the 1/4" NPT port will share the fitting of the gauge and whatever else is in that port? Is there anything else I need besides the 6 ft. nylon tubing (I am going to order the copper tube kit) with 1/8" NPT fittings and the 1/4'' NPT adapter/fittings that come with the gauge? One more question. When removing the dual gauge pod to swap it for a triple, how do I undo the lines of the two mechanical gauges already on there without damaging the gauges. Autometer says not to loosen the port nut or it will damage the gauge, but I need to remove the lines to switch the pod. I imagine the Boost/Vac line can be unscrewed, but what about the water temperature guage? Does that have a fitting that screws on/off as well? I need to get this figured out before I order everything. Thanks!

Unless you want your stock gauge to be a dead gauge, you'll have to buy a "T" of sorts from your local parts store to put in place so you can hook up both your stock and aftermarket one. I say of sorts, because one of the upper ends of the T is a male fitting, the other two are female if I remember correctly. Obviously since you have nylon or copper tubing, you're going with a mechanical and understand the importance of doing this beyond right because you're bringing pressurized hot oil into the cabin of the car right? Ok, so, my recommendation, spend some extra coin and get some REALLY nice stainless steel braided teflon line...I think it'll do you MUCH better than the nylon or copper stuff, plus it IS repeatedly flexible and VERY strong. I believe the section I used (measured with nylon + 10%) was around $30 or so but was well worth it IMO.
As far as the water temp gauge, I thought since it's just a probe that the probe line just screws into the gauge, but it may have been fixed and I can't seem to find any pics. I did find a picture of the "T" I was referring to and the line I used...look past the spin on filter adapter to the brass piece. You may have to "unrun" the existing wires as to not mess up the gauges, I'm not really sure.

Will do on the SS Teflon line. I was considering that as a better option than both anyways. Where might I find that?
What I need then is a T with a male to screw into the port, and two female ends to screw in the stock and aftermarket lines? Sounds simple enough. ![]() I'm hoping that's the deal with the temperature gauge, every other gauge that I've seen you screw the line into the back of the gauge, then to wherever the end needs to go. If not, I guess I will have to get creative at that point. It will have to come off to get them out of the gauge pod. It is supposed to snow/rain for the next two weeks, so ordering everything right away isn't a priority any more. Any more info anyone has on the subject is welcome as well. I appreciate the time and picture DS! ![]()

I just found this looking around. I'm guessing this is what I need? This one is from Lowes. 1/4" Compression T Fitting.
![]() Also, reading around, the probe and probe wire do not/cannot come off the back of the gauge, which means I will have to undo it from the block and completely remove it so I can get the gauge out. I will also have to buy an M16x1.5 plug so all of the coolant doesn't run out!

Here's what I've got:
![]() As long as the sizes are correct, my only concern will be connecting the line to the gauge. With that adapter, I would also have to use the 1/8" adapter the gauge comes with to go from Male to Female threads. I'm not sure if that would all fit in the pod. I suppose I would just have to cut out a hole in the stock A-Pillar and run it down.

I am going with what I hope is a much easier and more simple set-up than what I drew up the first time. I have the SEM paint for the new pod (thanks for the number Nick!), SS braided hose, all of the adapters/fittings, and a #4 AN wrench (new tool, yay!).
Will be here in about a week because of all the things I ordered, the thread sealant has to come from the OH warehouse ![]()

First off, you know not to use thread sealant on AN fittings, right? If you didn't, you do now
Also, your drawing seems overly complicated with many fittings where you could do with less I think unless I'm really missing something.

Yeah, I need it for the pipe threads (the pipe threads on the pipe to AN adapters and the back of the gauge, and the factory sensor). My only concern on whether or not I should use the sealant is on the 1/8" NPT female right angle to -4AN male fitting because of how it connects and flows. I am sure after looking at it, I will easily be able to tell.
And as far as my drawing, I agree 100%, it is way overcomplicated. I was feeling "creative," then had common sense kick in. It will be like this. A 1/4 to 4AN adapter to a 4 AN tee out of the port. The 4AN line to the gauge, and a 4AN to 1/4 adapter to fit the factory sensor. Thanks DS!

Awesome, that sounds much better and "cleaner" regarding the mating of all the parts together.

Everything came in this morning. The only problem I'm having now is getting the gauge to sit completely flush in the A-Pillar with the SS line. I can get it most of the way, but not that last little bit.

Been filing the gauge pod. The SS line that I bought has the fittings on the end, and the 1/2" collar? doesn't bend and is hitting against the pod, so I am slowly but surely filing it down so it will clear it.

Sorry, can't help ya there as mine was in the center console section. Forgot to mention that might be a problem in the pillar

Yeah, the nylon tubing that came with it fits perfectly, but the SS line is a bit tricky. I spent some $ on the line and the fittings, so I need to make it work.
I am going to try and return the SS braided line to Summit (they have a 90 guarantee) because the gauge will not fit in the a-pillar with the braided line. I am going to go with the Nylaflow Pressure line it came with because it fits. EDIT: just got off of the phone with Summit CS, and they are going to take back the 3 gague seals that won't fit, the Braided Line Kit, the AN wrench, and the four AN fittings that I can't use without the line! That's sweet! Kudos to Summit!
