Read this: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...-7-roller.html Particularly reply #4.

Hopefully that helps

EDIT: Here it is since I was being lazy.

Quote:
.500" lift is valve lift (w/ 1.6:1 rocker arm ratio)

.500 / 1.6 = .3125

.3125" is lobe lift (regardless of rocker arm ratio)

.3125 x 1.7 = .53125

.53125" is valve lift (w/ 1.7:1 rocker arm ratio)

When I rebuilt a 95 302 awhile back I used this website.

Most 302's come stock with a 1.6 rocker
http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2001/10/rockerarms/

Hope that helps!

You have to sign up to read the complete article. I paid the money at what time and I will see if I can still logon.
If I can I will print it and scan it for you

I don't know how technical you've already gotten into your research or what you alrighty might know, or even what cams you're looking into, but, (on my '89 notch) I had 1.7 rockers with the stock, E cam, and B cam (I went thru a few cams). When I changed to the F-cam I had to go back to 1.6's as the 1.7's were too much lift with the F-cam. All of this was done with the GT40X "turbo swirl" heads. Just a fyi.

I got all the parts except for a few gaskets and few misc things. AFR 165's, Anderson B31, Harland Sharp 1.6 rockers, Anderson PMS series 2. The only concern i have now is will my rockers fit under my pass valve cover. The pass valve cover on the Roush 5.0 is shortened. I am sure it will work but i guess i will have to wait and see. I will post up some pics whe i get everything together ready for the install.

Rick at Anderson was very cool and helpful. I told him what car i had and what i wanted to do. He said he has a Roush intake on the shelf that he never got a chance to play with. I told him i would send pics and dyno slips when i was done.

Generally the roller rockers had to be modified slightly with an angle grinder with factory valve covers on the cowl induction intake. Just from personal experiences.

My stock valve covers were grinded down on the inside at first(there were shavings FN everywhere). I later found a set of shiny blue Moroso valve covers that did the trick (this was back in 1999, I don't remember the part#, sorry).
