New roush classic wheels.

I like the new style roush 17x8" wheels so I got a set from Dale.
When I ordered them Dale said I should go with 245\45\17. They
look great but they are just not wide enough looking at the car from the back. I was wondering what is the widest tire you can put on the 17x8, and still have the low profile look of a
245\45\17? Has anyone tried this yet and if so do you have any pics of them? I was told by my local tire store that I could run
275\40\17 on them and be fine.

275's would prob be pushing the shit out of it....


I know i heard one time that you shouldnt run bigger then a 275 on a 9 inch rim.... But roush put 285's on mine stock "rear" .

if i had to say anything i would say that 255's would be max would prob be the MAX .... Best bet is just to find any regular GT with 245's and check out his ass to see if its going to be big enoughf and add either 10-20 mm in your mind to each rear tire to check size... I am not sure but the roush looks so wide in the back already that with 285's it just barly looks normal...


So do what you must but with 265's all around you could rotate... And that FN ROCKS>>>> Cheap as hell

Take a look at the specs of different tires at tirerack or the manufacturers web site. It's probably best and safest to stay within the recommended rim width for a particular size tire. For an 8" rim, Dale is recommending the correct sized tire.

275's are the limit...... My friend has 275 F1's on his 17x8 bullitt's and they look great with a wide stance.

they put 295's on mine.

Thanks for the info guys I will probably go with 275's then. By the way kane could you get pictures of your friends 275's could you. It will be after christmas when I get them? He do'snt have any problemks running them do's he.

I dont have any pictures but the tires stick out decently and from the back they look pretty wide..... not huge but better than 245's!

IMO those 5 star wheels are some of the best stock stang wheels ever... I like them better than the bullitts on certain cars...

I have seen some cars that bullitt's dont fit on.... Ill give u that but those 5 stars arent great on anything.
