    Question about Superchargers....

Who has run with one on a daily driver? Stage 3's and 360R's not counting.

Thinking ahead of myself and would like to know what pro and cons there are and what everybody recommends or despises. This will be for an 03 Stang and I hope the Romeo block can handle some boost.

    Help me out here!

    supercharger

I run w/ an Allen engine kit. I run 9lbs of boost at peak, mostly its around 7lbs, accept at the track! I have stock internals for now. but anyways... here is what the kit included:

Eaton M90-S blower (you can always upgrade to a 110)
    Allen engine intake
    Allen engine intercooler
    Heat exchanger
    alluminum fuel rails
    36lb injectors
    Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pump
    hoses
    Diablo Custom programed
    Lightning MAF
and a bunch of mounting hardware and what not.

one point...just buy some new intake gaskets from Ford, you need 2, and a 1/4" socket set and a 3/8" socket set, w/ a couple good extensions and an allen wrench set, no pun intended, but they make a lot of things that need allen keys, so have a good metric and standard set.

I would say the kenne bell/ saleen kit would be good for a daily driver, or roush if they ever come out with it "if its not 7k"

Less heat/ not lots of problems with throwing belts like centi's and less of a problem with the charger seals going out and leaking into the motor or the filter...

Some Stage 3s are built with Windsor blocks.. atleast the 99 was..

romeo blocks can handle 9 psi and over 400 horsepower...

Saleens use stock Romeo Blocks and people are pushing 9 psi through those ( with the chicane pulley ) and get over 400 horsepower, so why wouldnt we?

I plan on being over 400 horsepower after my l/t headers, o/r x and cat back exhaust...

actually I hope to have around 415 at the flywheel with all that plus my cold air...

So you think the Roush kit (if and when they market it) will be that much cashy?

I am just waiting on roush, if they dont release in the first quarter, I am going with the saleen twin screw ($4400)

Supacharge - Roush stage 3's are tuned to perfection. The guys at chicane and eaton told me that Roush did a great job getting performance out of the eaton S/C.
I am now producing 357 RWHP so that means I should be producing between 410 and 420 at the crank.
Now if Roush comes out with the 18 HP chip improvement then I should be able to produce 375 RWHP and 440 at the flywheel.
Now, this apprears to be at or over the capabilities of the engine so I'm happy on the one hand, but nervous on the other.

It is not aproblem right now because Roush has yet to offer the chip code enhancement. But, I sure would like to experience that HP in my car. Actually, I am looking for a roll bar to install. Unfortunately I'll have to remove the light bar, but given that fact that the car will have sub-12 performance I think it would be a prudent measure.
    Happy driving

As reported by 5.0 mag in January issue (Steeda Q400 on cover), Roush (and cosworth) have been given the proprietary computer info from Ford for the mustang. Other aftermarket companies may contract with Roush or Cosworth to do the computer "tuning" for aftermarket modifications. Like Steeda, release of this info allows the aftermarket co to offer a reliable daily "supercharged" driver.

I dont know how Saleen "tunes" the car, they call the process power flash, and if you buy a kit from them you have to send your comp to them for tuning. . . .

    Just my 2 cents

Not to be *too* hung up on numbers, but remember that an 18hp improvement at the flywheel is different than the RW... Roush is adding that number onto the BHP...

Grand Roush pooh-bah - But of course you are right. I took the 18HP as RWHP. Not true of course. Thanks for the correction.

So using 420 present FLYWHEEL HP the additional 18 = 438 FLYWHEEL HP and using the general 15% drivetrain loss this should come out to be 372 RWHP.
    Hopefully this all calulates out.
    Thanks Kev.

The sticker on the valve cover will tell you or the romeo has 11 bolts and windsor has 13.Also all 2001 up have romeo blocks form the romeo plant.
