Installed my Ipod!

I finally got motivated (it's sunny today!) to install the 98 console I bought from Crexrun last year...it has cupholders that my 94 didn't, plus it is the same dark black & a direct fit.

While I was doing that I also pulled the stereo to hookup the IPOD adaptor. Pretty neat to just plug in the Aux IN cable ...run the cable under the new console into the console storage bin & plug in my IPOD with all the good tunes on it. Sorry Crex...I drilled one hole in the interior box of the console for the Ipod plug! Hehe...looks fine really.

Then while I had the console all disconnected I rewired the Fog lites so I can turn them on anytime I want...with high beams or low beams or with the headlights off! Super easy to do...I took the Purple wire with the Orange stripe ( the feed to the convertible top) cut it & spliced into the Red wire with Black stripe (feed to the Fog lites) & taped up the cut end of the Red/black wire.

The Purple/Orange wire is hot whenever the key is on while the normal feed Red/Black wire is hot only with low beams on. Thank you Ford for the extra wires in there!

I had two problems that required a bit more time than I wanted...first I couldn't get the console off over the EBrake handle...Mrs. Mustanger rescued me once again by going online & finding some pics...You have to really really pull up on the Ebrake then raise the FRONT of the console to remove it!! LOL, I was backwards as usual...

Then the stupid coin delete refused to come out of the old console to be transferred over....it finally worked when I attacked the LONG end from underneath not the sides. Anyway I am very satisfied with the efforts today!

This old man can rock out on the way to Frontier Ford in a few more days & not spill his drink!
