Question Short Mufflers Vs. Long Mufflers

I'M INSTALLING THE LONG MUFFLER SET UP ON MY '97 WHERE AS I CURRENTLY HAVE THE SHORT MUFFLER SET UP . DO I NEED TO DO ANY MODIFYING TO THE INTERMEDIATE TUBES IN ORDER FOR THE LONG MUFF'S TO FIT PROPERLY?

    THANKS.

There were no issues with the intermediate pipes when switching muffler sizes on my 2001 with side exhaust. Not even the hanger bracket had to be moved.

Yeah, because both the in/out are on the front of the muffler, its just the length that is altered, and they come with the hanger studs already bent as needed. Slap em on, enjoy the sound...

Is there any reason you are getting rid of the short ones?

    Unhappy

the inlet hole of the muffler itself has rusted and deteriorated away so there's ahuge hole on both mufflers because they both did that! Just picture a school bus roaring by and that's what it sounds like right now!

OOoooh *throws his hand up* sounds like you need to talk to them about warranty, how old is this (original since 97)?

Yes, original since '97 unfortunately but oh well. I bought Martins long mufflers for $200 so that's not too bad I guess.
