um, no.

the z06 is a monster of horsepower and technology. the gt500 is a mustang with a carbon fiber hood. z06>any mustang available right now.

A Mustang should be compared to a Camaro. Compare the Vette to a Viper, or something else like it. Look at the base model price of a Vette and a Mustang, two completely different cars. Two seater sports car versus 5 seater in an emergency poor excuse for practicality Mustang.

Next, we'll be seeing the Five Hundred versus a Miata.

like chris says we are not comparing apples to apples how ever the best bang for the buck what the hell? you give me the 75g that guy spent on his vette and we could kill it with a damn fusion lol also the vette is only about 800lbs lighter as well the z06 is a bad ride we have done a few with the magna calloway chargers set up and they are outta this world but to each his own im stayin in a stang . oh by the way we have 2 p-51 in the shop now getting cams headers and pully upgrades along with tunes and a turbo car we call the predator getting a good short block and some more boost. bring on that vette. oh and the kr is way over rated as well whats sad is the guy paid more for the kr than the vette lol

One thing, the price tag on the KR is alot more than the z06 sure. But the price tag on the Gt500 would be cheaper and the horspower more within 10hp. The performance sure if I compare a two seat sports car to a 4 seat coupe the out come will be the same. Let alone the weight difference. Let me see a crash test between them and who would would win. I know the Shelby was said to be built for a corvette killer, but we are not comparing apples to apples here. Corvette killer, or z06 street legal race car? I am not bashin' the vette just the video producer for being such a ford hater. I am done venting.

Ford used to make a car meant to compete against the Vette... and last time I checked '67 427 Shelby Cobra > '67 427 'Vette. Then there is that whole Ford GT thing, which is just better, period.

Can't wait to see the KR dust that ugly Camaro they're coming out with.

But a GT costs more than twice as much as a Z06. Chevrolet did an excellent job with that car, and they are willing to make nearly nothing on each one sold so that they can hold the title in that niche for the time being.

Ford did not manufacture the AC Cobras, Shelby did. Although Shelby now takes production Ford vehicles and modifies them, it was very different back in those days.

I'm not saying the Vette is a slouch. When I look at a car I take the entire package into consideration and to me the Vette is just that, another Vette. The GT however, has a touch of history to it, looks great and has the power/performance to live up to the name GT-40.

And yes I'm stretching the truth a bit on the cobra. However, I did see a video once where Shelby said he made a cobra "because Ford said build us a car that can beat a Vette."
