The Mirror Incident

Story By Kev (Roush2k)

Major incident number one - while parked in front of my office one evening about 5 weeks after buying the car, a drunk idiot on a bicycle decided to check out my car and got a little close. Way too close. He clipped the mirror. Broke it clean off.

Was I pissed? Umm, yea. Way pissed. Couldn't catch up to him. Not sure what I would have done if I did catch him.

Result - needed a new mirror and to fix a very small dent on the driver side fender.

The mirror replacement was kind of a drag. Called a couple of dealers over the weekend to find a mirror. No one had one, but they all said they could get one the next day. I gave up looking and drove mirrorless [kind of like driving with your left eye closed - it's possible, but irritating].

I contacted Frontier Ford and told them that I needed to schedule an appointment. No problem - Wednesday at 7am would be the first available time. I let them know that they didn't have one in stock, and I would need one. I made it there at 7 on Wednesday. I was told that they didn't have a mirror in stock [duh] and that they would order one and send me a post card when it came in. Umm, no. That wouldn't work. I needed a damn mirror now. If it rained, I was hosed. I walked into the parts department and ordered one. They said it would be in the next day. I paid for it and walked to the service guy and told him there would be one in tomorrow and that's when they would put it on for me. He agreed.

I returned the next day, picked up my mirror and handed it over to service. About 45 minutes later, I could change lanes again!

I really hope that the Frontier Ford service department gets better soon. I would hate waste more of your time reading this whiny rhetoric about my service woes.
