98Cobra.com put together another great gathering on Saturday, June 29, in Hayward, Ca. The day was a beautiful day for a car show - mid 80s with a full serving of sunshine. The location, a Cal State Hayward parking area, proved to be plenty of room for the 80ish Stangs in attendance.
As we rolled into the registration area, clouds were hanging over the area. It wasn't long before the sunscreen (for those fortunate enough to remember to bring it!) was being dispersed, as the sun broke through in a big way.
The show was very well organized, the judging was peer-based, and the prizes were generous. The group at 98cobra.com deserve a lot of credit for pulling this together. Along with event T-shirts, there was a raffle for great prizes (including two Roush hats donated by your favorite Roush site!!), and trophies for the top 2 or 3 cars in each class.
The Signature Class was one of the largest classes in the field. The fnsweet.com crew was well represented in the class - Matt ('00 S2), Steve ('01 S3), Rich ('01 S2), Dale and Donna ('00 S2), Kev ('01 S3), Brian (Saleen), and Dean (Saleen) all made very impressive entries. The class was judged as Dean taking 1st, Kev 2nd, and Dale and Donna 3rd. A Saleen Cobra in the class took Best of Show. That was some competition!
Thanks to the 98cobra crew, as well as all of the fnsweet.com guys that made it out. It was a great day, and I got to meet new people and see some great cars. Looking forward to the next one!!
