Bassani-X Install and Misc. Pics

Here are some pics of the installation of the Bassani X-pipe install on my Stage 3. Stan Brown, owner, mechanic, and lead driver for SB Motorsports, was kind enough to not only sell me his X-pipe, but also did the majority of the install. His wrenching skills were most appreciated.

The install went pretty smooth. The only real difficult part of the job is reaching the nuts that hold the catted pipe to the exhaust manifolds. It is a real tight fit, but with the right combination of extensions and swivels, it is possible. The only other problem that I experienced was squeezing my large butt under the car :-)

The Bassani X-pipe waiting to be installed.

To lift the car, we backed it up on some ramps to raise the rear of the car, then jacked up the car with a floor jack to place wood ramps under the front. We had to raise it in stages because of how low the car is to the ground.

Some misc shots of the Roush cat-back system. The Magnaflow mufflers were less scraped up than I had thought they would be.

The stock H-pipe removed with the X-pipe next to it

Above are various views of the stock H-pipe. There are a total of 8 nuts - 4 on the manifolds, 4 on the muffler pipes - and 4 oxygen sensors to remove. Once those items are removed, the H-pipe drops down. We used a little bit of liquid wrench on a couple of the nuts on the manifold end to motivate the nuts.
